I tried Halo once, and it was kind of okay though I only played multiplayer.  Though I wouldn't get a 360 or Xbone for it.

I played co-op.  Love playing co-op.  Ringman and I were trudging through Halo 2 on Legendary.  We play co-op a lot.

Perfect Dark was the greatest FPS ever.  I love that game.

I agree. Loved playing that game over at Lou's. My best weapon was easily the Superdragon!

And yeah, Halo 2 co-op was a lot of fun.

Perfect Dark (N64) Review

Apparently, it's much better than GoldenEye, another highly praised FPS.

Sakura Leic

I'm sorry I just can't stand that reviewer's voice, or the bad former Govenator impression.

Yeah, I don't blame you.

Here's the link

I think it's iTunes only, but I'm not sure. Needless to say, I've already bought all six CD's.

It's not free, and it's pretty expensive too.

Also Snowball wandered into the room again.

D:

So much for free tunes...

Back to watching Ren & Stimpy.

Police Girl

If you want free music all you need to do is sail the data seas.

Yo ho ho~

I already bought music today (The Moon Pride Single came out yesterday.) and I'm not really in the mood to deal with more of iTunes' bullshit.

Quickman

Insomnia has beaten me again.  Curse you, insomnia!

*shakes fist at insomnia and then goes to take a sleep aid.*

If my nighttime meds actually sedated me like they used to, this wouldn't be a problem.  Curse you, extended release, for lessening the severity of a drowsiness side effect!  It's for that damn side effect that I even take this medication!  It's prescribed to make me drowsy!

Someone should make an E-tank cookie jar.

My FPS history includes Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Catacombs 3D, Perfect Dark 64 (which really got me into shooters back in the day), and Halo.
Some of mine was Unreal Tournament on the PS2 and Halo 1. :P (Yea, I was not one of those lucky kids who grew up with a computer.) I always wanted to try out the first Perfect Dark since I heard a lot of good things about it, so I might get it on XBLA. One of the reasons I got into FPS'es like BioShock, System Shock (though that's part RPG) and Doom (though I'm playing the PS1 total conversion) is to get away from crap like CoD.

I would be more interested in Castlevania.

The only Metroid games I would be interested in are Super Metroid, Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion.

And one of the games I would play once I get a Wii U would be Gucamelee since that would be the Super Turbo Championship addition.
If you don't me making a suggestion, how about the Gargoyle's Quest (Gargoyle's Quest I, Gargoyle's Quest II, Demon's Crest) series? They're kinda Metroidvania but instead of being one huge, interconnected world, you have an overworld like the earlier Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest games but each of the main levels are played like a side-scroller. You find items and enhancements that gives you new abilities or upgrads. I haven't played the first two, but I'm playing Demon's Crest, it's pretty good though boss difficulty can be a mixed bag, items can be too well-hidden sometimes, and the game has some slowdowns. The soundtrack is pretty good too.

Nice. Can't wait to buy them.

Quickman

Wolf3D has a shareware version, and there are a ton of free mods you can play.  I've helped mod it a couple times, with one finished mod (Diehard Wolfers TC) and graphics for an unfinished Megaman mod, and Ringman's done at least three full mods.

Currently, I'm looking at doing graphics for a zDoom kart racing mod.

Police Girl

Wolfenstein 3D is dirt cheap.
No reason to play the Shareware version.

Quickman

Shareware version is simply for easy modding.  Ringman mods the shareware version all the time.

ViperAcidZX

Well I got Wolfenstein 3D and some other old DOS FPS'es on my Steam wishlist (I'll most likely get Blood on GOG.com though) and I'm messing around with Wolfenstein 3D and Duke Nukem 3D on their sourceports, which works pretty well I have to say. Wolfenstein 3D's controls feel much more natural with mouse+keyboard under ECWolf.

Quickman

Yeah, the control scheme is pretty good.  Also, if you ever want to try modding a game, that'd be the best one to start with.  It's what I started with, and I love it.
