That thing is pretty common here so I'm not surprised to here about it happening elsewhere but really? It's just 10 cents man.

It's not the amount that annoys me. It's the mere fact that you have to purchase it, period, which makes no sense to me. I hear that some supermarkets are making it a habit, as well.

It's not a big deal, but it just caught me completely off guard.

Like Sakura said these past couple of years they've been trying to encourage those eco-friendly reuseable bags so by putting a price on the plastic bags they not only succeed in that but also make an extra profit. It makes perfect sense.

Police Girl

To be fair though, he has a point to be annoyed.

I don't know very many people who remember to bring those bags with them when they go shopping. And I know that cashiers consider them a hassle sometimes because they don't stay up very well or they bring really tiny bags or awkwardly shaped ones like those thermal bags.

Of course, on the other hand, the good ones are really durable and are easy to use, they're more expensive but if people brought those everywhere they'd have less issues with bags.

Quickman

I know they charge for plastic bags in San Francisco.  They haven't started charging for them here, though.  A lot of people use reusable bags (I have a bunch of bags, and I use a backpack for quick trips), so it wouldn't surprise me if they started charging for bags within a couple years.

Some stores give discounts if you bring your own bags.

"Your tax dollars at work" comes to mind. But, whatever, it's not a lot.

Quickman

Get into the habit of carrying a backpack for those quick trips.  It comes in handy.

Wow I really hate 2% Milk, 1% tastes much better.

2% is the one we've been purchasing for a while now. We also get Almond Milk, though I'm not very fond of the taste.

We normally get 1% but me and my dad went grocery shopping on Friday and he insisted on getting 2%.  Since he chugs milk like no one's business I just had the last of it today and really didn't like it that much.

It's annoying if you use food stamps at like Safeway cause they'll charge for the bags but the stamps don't cover the bags...

So if all you have is the stamps you can't get bags there :\

It's kind of an acquired taste. If you guys keep buying it, you may grow used to it.

I didn't like Lactaid Milk initially, but now I'm fine with it.

Quickman

I buy 2%, but I'll drink Lactaid.  I like Lactaid.

Oh we are not getting more 2% Milk, again it was only because I was with my Dad and not my Mom and my Mom is not going to get 2% even if for some my Dad makes a huge as deal about it and bitches at her about it.  It's bad enough that he drinks way more than he should, and don't get me started with the soda, with his diabetes no need to make it worse.

Whole milk is king, but for those of us with lactose intolerance, it also means digestive upset.

Whole milk is the only true milk.
That tastes even worse, not to mention the [tornado fang]ing unsaturated fat in that [parasitic bomb].  The only reason I don't drink Fat Free is because that tastes so watery.

Skim milk is water that wishes it was milk.

Ah, there's nothing like going to a talent show and hearing comically bad singing.

Protoman Blues

I actually like Goat's Milk the best!
