Hmm... looks like I didn't allow the pasta 'n sauce to stand long enough. Sauce was so runny, I could drink it like soup.

And... the clouds blocks out the sun, and it looks like it might rain. Just when the heat shot up, it drops like rock in the next hour.
I curse you, Mother Nature.*shakes fist*

Fear me.

I know how you feel, that's what California is all about.  Also I wish my math class is open right now.

Unfortunatley, I don't live in California, nor do I live on the same continent.

So far, it hasn't rained yet, but I may have just jinx myself right now.

Yeah judging by that summer comment you must live in the Southern Hemisphere.

There is a breeze at the door, I don't like breezes.  Also finished my initial business plan, admittedly I can't wait to learn how to refine it later on in this course.  I also considered the possibility of increasing my market to cater to those who play card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic the Gathering since I've know so many people who spend hours playing Magic and just make it a general game store.

So I found a cellphone in a bathroom stall and turned it in to the lost and found.  I hope whoever left it there finds it.

Still cold here, though not as cold.  Tomorrow will be less cold.

Even though I'm not surprised by this, and honestly it makes sense, I feel kind of bad that the teacher shot down my idea of a physical video game store.  Then again he didn't have time read it throughly and I probably should have specifically said game store.  At least I wasn't being cutesy about it or making weird conglomerates or super specialized stores.

It's still more practical and realistic a dream than the examples of hotels that were in my class.  Private bungalows on private islands was one that stuck out to me.  Others had exotic locations.  I threw together a hotel and conference center and dropped it into Harrisburg, because there was a niche that needed to be filled.

Yeah he shot down a lot of things, like the guitar shop.  At least I wasn't the one who wanted to make a kids shoe store, barber shop that serves beer, or a barber shop for men and a nail salon for women in one store.

I mean I understand what he was getting at, but I still want to make it work somehow.

Well, the best way to determine if such a store would be a success is to look around at what's already in your community.  Is there a niche that this gaming store will fill?  Is there a large enough consumer population for it?  Should you branch out into other types of gaming?  Are there already franchise holders in the area that would be competition?

What can your store offer that Gamestop cannot?  What can your selection offer that Wal-mart cannot?  What will your price range be?  Will you have better deals?  Will your prices be the same?  More, if you have to factor in import charges and exchange rates?  What will your stock have?  Domestic releases?  Indy developers?  Import titles?  Will you hold events?

Another thing is the consumer market.  Will it be viable?  The main reason for the failure of comic stores in Gettysburg is because the consumer market is too small to compete with our crazy property taxes.  Comic stores in other areas change hands frequently, and it's not unheard of for startups to close quickly.  The consumer market is too small in some areas.  Places like Harrisburg, Chambersburg, Mechanicsburg, York, and Lancaster can support one or two comic stores, as they have a larger consumer market.  Gettysburg doesn't have a large consumer market.  When your local comic store owner can identify you by name and count on one hand the number of customers each day (or week, or month), then the market is too small to be viable.

What you could consider doing is branching out to tap into other markets.  Include tabletop gaming supplies and card gaming supplies.  Have a room for tournaments.  Put in board games, such as Settlers of Catan and HeroQuest.  Make the store be all things gaming.  Dice, game books, source books, cards, mats, miniatures, sculpting supplies for miniatures (and a display case for people who make customs), painting, throw in modeling supplies for dioramas, have room for people to play, schedule tournaments and events, along with the usual assortment of video games and paraphernalia.

The more consumer markets you can tap into, the better chance at success you'll have.

Sakura Leic

Yeah I had a feeling that I would have to make it all things gaming.  As for consumer markets in cities I have to scope out and figure out where to do that.  In other words I'm still learning this stuff and need to refine it more.  I just didn't want to resort to making it an online only store because I'm not a techie person.

So I'm working on a NSFW image of Hawkeye (well, there's nothing showing, but I still wouldn't call it SFW since I modeled his pose after the Cheetara pic in the eicchi thread)...

More Hawkeye initiative?

Anyway I need to decide what colors I want to paint my room and how.  I think I decided mainly on a Maroon.

Also misplaced my wallet and panicked when it wasn't I my purse.  I must have accidentally put it in my backpack after I bought my last book.

But I don't want black in my room, or yellow for that matter.

Police Girl

I had a nice crying screaming fit in my car today. Can't exactly [sonic slicer] in the house when others are home.

I think its time to start crawling back into the shell and shut myself away a little more.

Mom's back in Florida, so hopefully I won't have to deal with BLARGLE.  Most of the drama I kept to myself.  Sunday was EXTREEEEEEEEEEME BLARGLE and hopefully the last of that bullshit that I'll have to deal with for a while.
