Unless they are saying that the terrible incident is Spiritomb wrecking havoc, threatening the Infinity Energy research. But it felt like the terrible incident is due to Wattson shutting New Mauville down... I guess I have to wait until I do the New Mauville side quest to find out.[/spoiler]
