Arche paced down the hallway, his steps becoming heavier with each passing second and his hands curled tight into a ball. He couldn’t help but think about all of the lies and half-truths that Phi must have said to him.
Suddenly, he thought back to what The Man On The Moon said:
“I fear something tremendous is coming. A crisis. Something that will push everyone to their absolute limits.”
He couldn't begin to understand what he meant and wondered if this was something that Phi also kept secret from him. Who could he trust anymore? There are too many questions and not enough answers.
Just the possibilities themselves were enough to make him nauseous, and he quickly stepped into the bathroom on the right.
With rough force, Arche opened the faucet and splashed water on his face a few times. He then slowly raised his head and faced the cracked mirror, staring into the fractured reflection with a harrowing gaze. “Yeah… I suppose that’s true… I don't really know who I am.” He spoke with drenched trembling hands.
Arche took a deep breath and exited the room, continuing to where his GST suit would most likely be stationed.
Phi’s heartbeat was still hammering away after Arche’s outburst earlier and she stepped out, her feet shuffling lazily and devoid of motivation as she made her way to the transerver room. Her posture was shallow and slumped over as she input the coordinates for the Sex Station.
With her left hand gripping her right arm, she stood in silence and moments later, she was teleported in a flash of light.
Arche managed to crack a slight smirk when he gazed at his alien suit. “I almost forgot how imposing this was from up close… Well, let’s see what this thing is capable of.”
He opened the cockpit and entered.
Phi made it to the Sex Station and viewed her completed mobile suit; the Gundam Nadleeh. However, try as she might… she couldn’t feel the spark. The excitement. Phi was ecstatic when she found out she was getting her own mobile suit, but after what just happened? This was just another job. Another mission, like what she was sent to do with Arche.
Mission.
Mission.
Goddamnit… the word barely sounded real anymore. Was this all worth it, in the end? Phi pressed her forehead against the suit and briefly shut her eyes, her throat beginning to feel sore again.
After a few seconds, she opened them and steeled her gaze through the large windows, peering into the galaxy.
She nodded her head and jumped into the cockpit.
Arche placed his hands on the controls and looked ahead.
“I need to remember. This life of mine has to be worth something.” He stated firmly and attempted to build confidence.
“I need to forget. Perhaps this was a mistake… maybe I was fighting for an empty future...” Phi gripped the controls and cleared her throat.
Arche and Phi launched out into space, their eyes wide open to whatever future lies ahead.
