Hey cool some actual Toonami News other than FLCL came back (Its probably gone again now though)

QuoteBIG HONKIN' TOONAMI ANNOUNCEMENT!
Hey everybody! Just wanted to drop you all a line and announce a couple pieces of Toonami news.

First, we are proud to announce that Toonami will be WORLD PREMIERING the new series from Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Studio BONES (FMA, Soul Eater, many more), SPACE DANDY! SPACE DANDY is a 26 episode series that will be premiering in the U.S. BEFORE it premieres in Japan (yep, you read that right)! Details on that to follow soon.

Oh, and when will it premiere? Sooner than you think- January 4th, at 11:30 PM.

"Did I just read 11:30?"

Yep, you read that right. Space Dandy will kick off an expanded 6-1/2 HOUR TOONAMI broadcast every Saturday. Toonami Faithful, we got our extra half hour!

Oh, you're STILL not satisfied? Fine. We have some other great news that will be coming in the next few weeks, but until then we'll drop one more little tidbit: In December, Toonami will take a break from our regular schedule and have a bit of holiday fun, with three weeks in a row of a movie special to kick off the block! What movies, you ask? Well, you'll have to wait a bit on that.

Finally- if you have more questions about all this, GOOD- ask them here! We'll be doing our monthly Toonami Q&A this Sunday from 11am et, to whenever we hit the tumblr post limit! Remember, your question could end up on our monthly on-air Tumblr Q&A session with Tom and Sara.

WHEW- okay. Keep your eyes locked right here over the next few weeks for more details on all of this, as well as some other VERY exciting developments we can't talk about yet. And in the mean time, do make sure you check us out on November 2nd, when we'll be airing some fun little surprises in the daylight savings hour (2am)!

WE WILL NEVER STOP!!

Love,
The Toonami Crew.

My mind is filled with wat.

Lao, why bring back FLCL? That only lasted about 6 or 7 episodes or something? Short anime to be brought back.

ViperAcidZX

Finally we're seeing something interesting that's not airing around 2:00 AM EST.

Probably to fill the 2:30 AM gap since IGPX finished last Saturday. And yes, it's six episodes long.

Amatiramisu

They air FLCL like once a year. It's tradition, I suppose.

I believe [as] said it was their favorite anime and that they're never letting it go.

At least they don't run it into the ground like Bebop.

So I wouldn't expect Bebop to come back on anytime soon, apparently [as] lost the rights finally, not surprising seeing as it was licensed by Bandai and such.

They're gonna try and get them back apparently, and next time it'll be the remastered version instead.

Oh Mother [tornado fang]er.

ViperAcidZX

Didn't Disney Channel had Shippuden before? Regardless, Toonami is obsessed with Naruto. Why can't we have more interesting ninja anime on Toonami?

Disney XD did, but they didn't want it anymore and let the rights expire.

I'm at least happy they're letting the original series go away. Otherwise it'd be Naruto Overkill and people wouldn't really like that.

Well, except for people who think it's the absolute paragon of [tornado fang]ing anime or something.

The worst kind of people.

So hey Movie month next month.

Here's your movies.

QuoteTOONAMI DECEMBER MOVIES ANNOUNCEMENT:

Hey #toonami faithful! We're back with some more good news. This December, Toonami will have a whole MONTH of movies to ring in the holidays! We'll release the full air schedule soon, but for now, here are the GREAT movies we'll be airing:

12/7- AKIRA- Yup. The most influential anime film of all time is coming to Toonami and kicking off a month of movies. That promo will be something to see, we're tellin' ya. By the way, the 25th anniversary remastered Blu-Ray was just released by our friends at Funimation, and man. It's gorgeous.

12/14- SUMMER WARS- directed by Mamoru Hosoda, this modern classic is something we've had our eye on for a while. We think you'll love it!

12/21- FULL METAL ALCHEMIST- THE CONQUEROR OF SHAMBALLA- FMA fans know how great this gem is. And so do we. Produced by Bones, the same studio who will be bringing you SPACE DANDY in January!

12/28- TRIGUN: BADLAND RUMBLE- Trigun is back where he belongs on Adult Swim, in a special one off adventure.

And that's not all! We'll also be doing a TOONAMI T-SHIRT GIVEAWAY for the whole month of December, AND you might see some interesting things happening with TOM and the Absolution!

Okay that's all... for THIS week! Like we said, more details to come, and we hope you're as excited about this holiday season as we are!

Speaking of movies, I wish Toonami would start the "Month of Miyazaki" again.

It would also give them a chance to air the newer films like Arrietty.

I think the problem there is them having to get the rights to air them from disney.

Phi

Would Disney really have a problem with that, though? I wouldn't imagine they would.

On a side note, surely they could've picked a better movie than Badland Rumble. It was mediocre at best. Same (arguably) goes for Conqueror of Shamballa. Though I did enjoy it more than Badland.

Police Girl

Not really news but I guess that tomfoolery they did on November 1st didn't exactly hit the schedule on my DVR so now everything there is [tornado fang]'d up.

Thanks guys. Now I have no reason to continue SAO! You've made my life so much easier.

My thoughts exactly.

Anyway, some awful thought in my head told me to catch up on SAO.

I feel... confused? Its not as bad as everybody says it is, its not great but its not like completely unwatchable like Naruto is.

I wish they'd stop giving aniplex money, they overcharge for mediocrity.

Amatiramisu

I kept [tornado fang]ing telling you man.
But uh, ALO's complete [parasitic bomb] so if you change your mind anywhere around then, nobody blames you. Really, only the initial SAO arc was any good. I don't hear much good about anything after that up 'til the current LN arc.

Anyways, regarding Blue Exorcist...

The bad part of the show is that it is a mediocre show being marketed and publicized as the second coming of Christ. To anyone familiar with Anime, it is very shlocky, by-the-numbers, and a cesspool of bad anime tropes; yet people think its the best thing ever. Look at the fan base, the merchandising, the mechanical mainstream appeal. All the stereotypes that this show affirms to the general populace of what anime is is what tears it for people like me, those who vouches that anime is just as viable of a media format as movies, books, and live-action TV.

Tahu: "No. That leaves only me."

I've got no beef with shlock.

I love shlock.

So uh Soul Eater's replacement has been announced.

Its Black Lagoon.

Hooray for massive [tornado fang]ing censorship!

Phi

Never did watch Black Lagoon, though I wanted to.

What would they have to censor?

Lots of [tornado fang]ing swearing, from what I hear.

Toonami bleeps cursing?
If you watched like episode 6 of Deadman Wonderland when it aired Toonami bleeped out 22 cuss words.  19 were from one character.
