What if X was never created?

What if Light had simply never gotten the idea to make X?

What do you guys think? What would the future, 21XX and beyond, have been like?

Personally, that just makes me wonder more what would have become of Zero.

Better question, what if Zero was the basis for reploids and X was the anomaly?

Wouldn't have happened. Most likely.

It took Sigma to capture Zero. And that was with luck. (Basing this on the cutscene of Sigma vs. Zero)
Sigma was based on X.

No X, no Sigma, nothing would have stopped Zero.

Even if something else had stopped Zero, there's no guarantee that this specific knockout would have converted Zero into a good guy.

Basically, no X means the world would have thrown leagues of classic-niveau robots at Zero until either one of them would have been lucky enough to take him out or until Zero had destroyed them all.



Edit: I just read your post thouroughly and realized that I did not answer your question but instead elaborated a scenario in which only Zero existed.

Well, Wily came up with Zero regardless of X. he made Zero to defeat Rock and Bass. But, as we know now, he was sealed away due to a cognitive flaw making him violent and disobedient. However, when Wily learned of X, he re purposed Zero to defeat X instead.

but if he never did that, what would he have done with him?

Also, I dunno, it seems like there are no classic style robots by the X series. Only one we've seen is Auto in an X3 PS cutscene.

I would imagine they would send the military after him. And eventually, the military would defeat him. but would he be defeated and then studied, possibly reprogrammed? or destroyed and then studied?

Certainly, a race of reploids made in Zero's image would be something interesting.

I thought Zero was made due to Forte stealing Dr. Light's plans regarding X? I could be wrong though.

That was a fan theory made around 7 when he stole the Rush adaptor plans. Power Battle/Fighters both state Zero's purpose as to defeat Rock and Bass. (more or less. Wily states he's making a robot that will defeat both him and Rock)

Ah, okay. I thought it was true due to the fact that Wily pretty much seems to base most his tech off of Light's work. Never mind then.

I think the theory also happened due to X's armor and Zero sharing the same buster in X1.
