While it's certainly more affordable than expected, let's see what games are going to be available for it.

I'm still kind of worried about the placement of the sticks, to be honest. It looks like it's going to be just as uncomfortable as on the PSP to use them x2 since now there's two of them. That layout works for a controller that isn't flat, but not so much for a handheld which needs to be flat so that it's remotely portable.

Vita already has around 150 developers working on it.

3DS already bombed hard with it's release line up. Even the elevens don't care for it.

Sony won the conference alone with the Vita. PiiU was [parasitic bomb] that they didn't even show the console or talk about it. It's just trying to play off of retarded gimicks again. And the game footage  they showed for it, Literally over 90% of it was was the PS3, 360, and PC versions of those games. U had nothing at all.

C ya next year.

HAHAHAHA... ahh...

Doesn't mean it's guaranteed to have anything good at release. It's not uncommon for devs to have been working on a system for a long time before it's even announced, yet still not have anything of note for launch since they're still getting familiar with the hardware.

I'm sorry Nintendo, you lose in terms of portables this round \o/
You know, everyone said the same thing when the first DS launched.

$250 Vita is certainly unexpected, I'll give them that.  Even if it is the low-grade model.

D'ohoho~

Of course Ninty will still win in the end. I don't expect anything less from my favourite company. But to clarify things, the 3DS loses to the Vita for me.

As long as the Vita is backwards compatible, and I can import it, the 3DS can wait o/

And speaking of money, Sony REALLY needs this thing to do well if it's true that this thing is going to have them in the red for approximately 3 years because of its price.

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

The price is the main reason it will hopefully do well. Because it's the same price as the 3DS, it actually has a chance of competition. Heh, I wonder how many city dwellers are going to spend that extra $50 for AT&T 3G service though.

Of course, but there's no denying that it's a risky strategy though.

All gaming companies are at losses when the new hardware is 1st out. It takes a while for any of them to to actually make a profit, but they do in the long run.

Even with the RROD fiasco, in the last 3 or so years MS's been making nothing but profits,  and it's rising each year.

And they're not selling it for cheap. It's been known for a while that the very 1st decision when it came to Vita was the pricing. Once they decided on that they designed the machine and specs withing that price range, hence the 2 models.

PlayStation Vita Just Might Be Region Free

Quote
This could be good news for anyone looking forward to the PlayStation Vita; IGN report that according to Michael Denny, Vice President of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe, the device will be region free, “to the best of his knowledge”.

The PlayStation Vita will come in two models – one with Wi-Fi capability for $250 and one with Wi-Fi/3G capabilities for $300.

I'm happy to hear that, because the majority of PSP games I have were from overseas. This will probably be the case with the Pita as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Vita lacks a UMD drive.

I don't imagine it'd be any small stretch for backwards compatability in the realm of digital downloads, though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it does not play UMD discs.

Yeah, the game media for the PSV is gonna be some kind of DS-like cartridge/card.  No UMD drive.

Yeeeeah despite that I think I might still get it as long as I can somehow obtain Japan PSN games. Which my friend is convincing me is possible with a few contacts.

There have been a few PSP games I've felt like having but didn't feel like getting a PSP just for them. S'a liiiiie Physical copies are nice but I can live without...I guess.
