Hey, guys! I suppose I should start my own thread here to showcase some of my musical endeavors. I've been composing music for about two years now, and it's been a very rewarding journey thus far. I'm pretty much an autodidact, but I will gladly accept any help others will offer me. I'd love to get some feedback on some of my compositions--particularly my RPG ones, as that's the genre I'm not very experienced at writing. Feel free to browse some of my more recent work, arranged by genre in no particular order. I appreciate any help I can find, so don't hold back on your comments!

all the 2A03ish songs definitely sound nothing like Mega Man

I shall uncover the path towards your over-praised position over Youtube for at least the Mega Man ones that is
Me bringing up more dA dramas really makes no sense but I guess I KILLED ANOTHER GAME.

Listening to what you're composing, I feel ashamed of the crap I make in FL Studio.
I especially like that Castle Song.
Keep at it dawg.

Also, you've kinda motivated me to try and make something "good" in FL Studio again... thanks. : >

Now do a chiptune cover of Arubaluba.
I've always wanted to cover something by Camel. One of the first songs I tried to cover was "Nimrodel" purely because of that mad keyboard solo. I ended up scrapping it due to lack of patience, though. Perhaps I'll do a chiptune cover in the future!

How do you mean? Each individual Classic series game has it's own distinctive musical style. Are you saying my work sounds un-Mega Man-ish because I'm not mimicking one of the composers' styles or because you simply can't see these songs fitting in the Classic universe?

That's great to hear! Glad you enjoy my work. I'd love to listen to some music you've made.

i gotta say, you are an inspiration for many people to track songs in 8-bit style.

speaking so, what is more fun and easy to use to you, Famitracker, Chiptunes or FL studio with samples?.

This also reminds me that I've got a badass enough computer to actually handle FL Studio.
But I just can't find the time amongst other things to actually get any practice.

Anyway, if you do a chiptune cover of any Camel tunes, I'll be sure to listen post-haste.

Uwah, your music is really awesome! =D I really liked Chiptune the Stars, Area 1, and Solitude 2~ I wasn't really a fan of your MMX style tunes though, I'm not too sure why...I mean, it's not that I don't like the tunes or anything, but somehow the track doesn't seem to draw me in...? Dunno orz
I showed my friend and he said he was surprised that no one's taken all of your music and made a game out of it yet...I think that's meant to be an awesome compliment :>

kuja killer

i've personally never tried listening to any of your songs ever before ...but first time in my life i've ever heard any of your creations ex-cluding necroman, was on the megaman 8 bit death match PC game. :) and i was totally blown the freaking hell away. :)

They're all fun to use, but I'm most comfortable with FL. Third-party VSTs like Chipsounds are manageable, but samples are the most convenient for me.

That's funny, 'cause it's usually the other way around. I'm really glad to see appreciation for my non-Mega Man works.
Tell your friend he has my thanks!

I guess I could update this thread with some of my original, unreleased Music Lobby (DropBox folder) stuff. Check 'em out! B^)

Glad you guys enjoy it! I'll post the song titles/composers later this week.

On a side note, here's some new stuff to check out:

The voiceovers may be a little cheesy. Not sure if I want to keep doing them for newer songs in the series. What do you guys think?

Kevvviiinnn

Brand spankin' new boss theme, guys! I'd like to hear your thoughts on it.

Protoman Blues

I can't speak for anyone else, but my thought is that it's pretty damn spectacular.

borockman

Man, I really want to fight boss with that kind of song, its high pace give the sense of imminent danger.

Very old school, reminds me of Nobuo Uematsu a lot.

Basically, lovely and awesome!

Proud member of Indigo tribe!

@The Boy Nabs a Broad...sword: I liked it! It had a very traditional: 'starting out on an adventure' feel.
Did you seriously giggle like a little girl
Tbh I think the voiceovers distracted from the music a bit because of the huge reverb (which also muffled the clarity, and it was hard to understand until I saw the text version).
But I like the idea of having voiceovers. It's a bit like a radio drama where the music helps playing the part of the narrator.
You're pretty good with voices too xD

@Town 10: I could listen to that all day~~ It sorta reminds me of the lazy Pokemon town themes in its simple catchy way that somehow gets stuck in your head without you noticing as you walk around town humming it.

@Boss Battle 1: Love the opening. I think openings are really important in boss themes, because that's where you pay the most attention to the music. The rest of the song does well to keep the heart-pumping excitement up. It does actually remind me of Uematsu's early themes, right down to the low quality samples but hm, catchier.

Keep on composing >w<b

Where's the Kevvviiinnn mix? Huh? Where is it?

But no seriously, good job on those tunes bro.

Thanks; I'm a huge Uematsu fan, so that definitely had something to do with it.

Heh, thanks! I think you're right about the voices. I actually can't stand the sound of my own voice, so I just pour tons of reverb over the voiceovers to make them a little more bearable. I'll take note of your advice and cut down on the reverb or remove it completely for my future songs, which may or may not involve singing....

On a related note, Camel's got some of the catchiest prog I've ever heard.  8B

Thanks for the feedback, guys!
