I liked the parts of the manga BEFORE the card game came into play.

In fact, im convinced without the childrens card game, there might have been much more variety.

I remember I was pleased that they adapted the tabletop RPG episode with Bakura to the card game, but the original with the rpg story was far better. I mean come on. The maniac impales his own hand. (plus lol Zorc)

side note: it saddens me Dungeon Dice Monsters never caught on. It seemed really really fun.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

@PB: Truuuuuuue TinTin does use those kinda eyes don't they xD I don't think that was what I had in mind when I drew it though. Actually I have no idea what I was imitating /hmm
I used to play with YGO cards, but none of us spent enough money to build up a really good deck and so there was a lack of decent opponents -o-

Maybe you were just drawing on mystical quasi dimensional information of some kind. Or it could just be a coincidence.  8)

Oh, I spent plenty of money on YGO cards. Way too much, now that I'm olde and think about it. I had a lot of good decks. I was so happy when my Burn Stall deck beat a judges cheap Yata Lock deck.  8D

Krystal

'Cause it's just like Duel Monsters? :D

And yeah, the variety was good ='D I liked the DDM game played in the manga but I'm not sure physically making that game would've been very profitable.
Tabletop RPGs are awesome, and completely worthy of being the (sorta) final kind of game played in the series.

@PB: Perhaps perhaps. I was too young back then to have any kind of money to spend on anything =( But now that I have money I'm spending it all on figurines and clothes 8D

Blackhook

@ Krystal: You always must have the last word, don't you? :D
@ PB: Did you ever compete in a YGO tournament?
The card game is fun.
On the other hand "not even the most advanced computer can figure out this game!"

Krystal

Yep.

And now my thread is all about YGO/YGOTAS. I'm alright with this.

That's for the best, Krystie. Both of those are more worthwhile, I think. XD

Not really. Just like 4 times total. Two things prevent me. #1 is time. #2 is that people who play the game here tend to be overwhelmingly stinky.

Then bring buckets of warm soapy water with you!

That's a great plan!
Bring buckets of water to a CARD game tournament.
BRILLIANT, TALYN! BRILLIANT! NOTHING CAN GO WRONG!

Also, yeah... this thread got kinda derailed... I'll [tornado fang] off then until it gets back on track in fear that I derail it more. D :

Mirby

Well... ummm... move the cards first?

...Well I kept my deck in protective plastic sleeves.

Anyway, now for something completely relevant~!

Carry on with the YGO card game talk.

Protoman Blues

I'm curious, what kind of deck did you build? Any specific types or just a random favorite card deck?

Krystal

Naah, I didn't play enough to start strategies like that. I pretty much started off with a favourite card deck and then shuffled things around a bit as I played some more with my friends.

Yeah, not really a duelist, just did it 'cause it was YGO and it was something to do with my friends xD

Protoman Blues

Ahhhhh okay. That's how I started out and how I wound up building a Dark Paladin deck eventually, being the the DARK MAGICIAN is my favorite.  8D

Ooooh, draw him and the Dark Magician Girl in action poses.  8)

SHAME ON YO KRYSTAL SHAME ON YOU!

Btw... did you get his signature?

Krystal

I forgot about it :< He would've probably said something funny as well.

Okay so here's the thing, the guest signings line was ridiculously popular, as in, 2 hours long or something, and when I got there they had just cut it off and I was like http://www.nooooooooooooooo.com/

Then later when my friends were gonna go I remembered that I had a sketch in my sketchbook I needed to give LK so I ran back and begged the door people to let me drop it off. Like 3 levels of authority later, they let me cut in and hand the sketch to LK. I also got to ask a quick question, and I apologised that I couldn't stay, talk to him more, and get his signature. But then LK was like: 'Oh I can give you a quick one now do you have something like your name tag or...' By then I had already whipped out the sketchbook I ripped the sketch out of, flipped it to a blank page, and held it out in front of him. He quickly signed it and I said thanks and ran off. The guy who I cut in front gave me the dirtiest stare.

So yes, I got his signature without effort. Krystal is ;w;b

Krystal

Why thank you yami, and here I thought you were still mad at me messing with your hair.

borockman

Damn, fangirl power is strong in you!

Is it possible to see the snapshot of it?

Krystal

Noo, I drew the picture at the con in between waiting for things, and there wasn't a lot of waiting going on during the con.

He liked it though, so that was good :D

Rin

That's quite an adventure you had there. : D

Also, just so I can get it out of the way:
LK sucks now... well, at least Yu gi oh TAS sucks. Because he still seems like an okay guy.
Shame he keeps dealing with PsyGuy and his crew of hacks.
Now that I think of it, when did exactly TAS did such a nosedive into crap?
Hmm.... hmmm...

Still... I kinda envy you. Such a perfect opportunity to meet the guy who made me laugh so much IN THE PAST would be great.
I would probably scare him off with my horrible accent though. D :

Krystal

Wha - I...you - Have you watched episode 52? 48? =w= You know, the one with the trolls who complain about how YGOTAS sucks now, it was better when it was shorter, when he voiced everyone, and when it wasn't different? 8D

Anyway, during the questions, LK actually admitted that he had actually said all he could've said about YGO in the first episode, and that it was increasingly hard to find something to say about the card games. I don't know about you but other than the fact that the duelist city tournament was one of the dullest things ever both canonically and in TAS, I still find LK funny. >_>

He's also hilarious irl :D
