I just saw this video and FFFFFFFFFFFFF. Scariest part, this isn't even the current world record. XD
...
....
......!
Now, y'see,... THAT theres what Sonic games should be about. whats scarier is that he was completely in tune with the music... he reached the goal at the same exact moment the song ended... >.>;;;
also, one thing I missed about this game was the stage clear jingle thats been in use ever since Sonic 3. I mean, even sonic 360 had it. why couldnt they stretch it out one more game? I miss it... :'(

another thing about the two different versions. in the "real" versions, when you accelerate, yo ACTUALLY go faster. in the PS2/Wii versions, once youre going at your top speed and you use the sonic boost, you really dont feel like your going any faster at all...

You know, Flame, you really need to use the Modify Your Post button more.

One thing I love about Sonic when he's going at Top Speed is that parts of the music tend to fade out.  I thought that was neat.

Flame

sorry.
also, yeah. thats pretty neat. the music warps and gets faint, as if you were going really fast.

For those of you having trouble S-Ranking Mazuri Act 2 Day on the 360/PS3 version, here's a new shortcut.

Details about it under more info. I'm sure this will make a lot of people happy.

Awesome.  Good stuff to know when I eventually get that game back! XD

Wanda Bear

For people like Wanda and her Wii version, they dun get Mazuri stages. :'( Well, at least I fully completed the game in five days. >.>;;

I'm in this situation myself and contemplating (still) how I'm gonna get the HD version. Savannah Citadel (Maizuri) & Empire City (New York) must be played dammit! >BD

Am I the only one who thinks they're just making Sonic way too [tornado fang]ing fast?  Seriously, you can't even tell what's going on half the time in Unleashed.

Sonic was fast enough in Sonic Adventure.  Now they're just making him faster to the neglect of all else.

Commander Shepard: *stares blankly at a video of scantily clad asari dancers* ...What kind of hotel is this?
Liara T'Soni: It is a luxury resort with an... exotic edge.  Azure is slang for a part of the asari body in some places on Illium.
Shepard: Where?
Liara: The lower reaches, near the bottom.
Shepard: I meant, "where on the asari body?"
Liara: So did I.

...I think this is the first time I've ever heard this said about Sonic.  Ever.

Honestly though, I love the blinding speed.  It's the best part of the game, from a super speed fan such as myself.  Like a lot of classic Sonic games, a lot of running through the levels are trial and error.  You see a stretch of rings you didn't see before.  You see where to jump and which route to take.  I mean, personally, I can see what's going on fine.  I just have to have quick enough reflexes to get my S rank!

I saw plenty of platforming in Sonic's levels in Unleashed, especially in the later levels. It's fine with me.

Kieran

About the nicest thing I can say of Unleashed is that Sega finally, after six games, managed to work the bugs out of the 3D Sonic engine.  I personally think the game's still riddled with questionable design choices and sloppy controls.  The only speed stage I've found entertaining so far is Rooftop Run Act 1.

I think it'd be better off if the stages were fully 2D instead of the 2D/3D switching.  Have the camera aimed ahead of you at an angle at all times (as it does in the 2D segments from time to time) so you can actually see what's coming.

All that said, I'm actually having more fun playing as the Werehog than Sonic.

360 review.

The score made me lol.

Didn't the Wii version get like, a 7?

Kieran

Yeah, it did.

But the 360 version also got a 6.0 on another site (was it the US IGN or a different one?  I can't remember).

Thus why I base games upon my own opinion; people either shower games with praise or attempt to make them burn in hell. Look at the Halo series, what with having average gameplay, a slightly off-kilter storyline (oddities and the like), and somewhat fun yet also limited multiplayer, and yet being praised as one the best series of videogames in existence by millions. >.>;;

QuoteWasn't it around the time Old Yeller turned into a werehog that someone had to finally put him out of his misery?

OOOO, BUUUUURN.

Maybe the 7 was paid?
Either way, if SU gets a 4.5, Sonic Heroes and ShTH need lower scores. Way. Lower. Scores.

STM

It's because the guy reviewing them is still pissed his parent's gave him a girly sounding name.

From what I've read, this guy always rates games very poorly and complains about issues that may or may not exist in the game. If you try to read his mess of a review, it's less professional journalism than it is a rambling post you'd likely read on GameFAQs and GameSpot. You know, the kind people respond to with it like "lol" or "cool story, bro."

Turian

 [objection!] I want to drown this reviewer in concrete. What a tool. Don't listen to him, this game is awesome.  8)

Jericho

At this point, reviewers see fit to troll SEGA and Sonic while the gamers love the game...

Holy [parasitic bomb], third sign of the Video Game Apocalypse fulfilled! XD

Remember me, what were they?

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

We're a Capcom site and you don't know? XD

- Mega Man 9
- Street Fighter 4

Although now that I think of it, there were a bunch more listed in a thread in ye olde RPM.
