Late but it has to be asked:

OK, so I'm watching Night of The Werehog and I have to ask, does anyone else agree with me that after Sonic 3 & Knuckles, this should have been the mandatory way of telling a story in the Sonic games? Seriously, a visual story with plenty of actually funny (if a bit childish) quirks > most of the dialogue heavy everything since Sonic Adventure.

All I'm going to add to this is if talking has to continue, I hope it can have that same kind of light hearted cartoon approach as I've seen/heard in Unleashed so far. SEGA you're on to something, please please PLEASE keep going with it.

I have to watch it, sounds like it's good, and you only copy-pasted that from GAF or was that you? I seriously didn't notice XD I'd say that it would be a good idea, but it's hard for me to imagine that outside of the 2D games.

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

Yeah, but that "I want to Believe" Egg-o-Matic just worked for my sentiments. Seems like the belief was rewarded. 8)

JERRY! HEY!
What's this I hear about Tails being playable!?

VixyNyan

Yea, PS3/360 version has Playable Tails. It's also said that Wii/PS2 doesn't. :'(

Tails... playable...

watwatwatwatWAT?

Source. Now. The only thing I know of is a little Tornado mini-game in between flying from one continent to the next.

HyperSonicEXE

Whew, good thing I didn't buy this just yet!

Boy, the Wii/PS2 versions got shafted, eh? Not just the Tails thing, but it seems that the controls aren't as clear in those two, and that there's a better balance of Day/Night stages in the 360/PS3 versions.

...but we really won't know for sure about the PS3 version until it's out in...what...December? 12th?

VixyNyan

It's the mini-game. And maybe some other thing we haven't heard about.

Also, PS3/360 focuses more on Sonic segments, and Wii/PS2 is more about Werehog segments...

Well, then I don't even need to have Lou sign out the Wii/PS2 version.

HyperSonicEXE

Ugh, a Mini-game?

Seriously, we need a Tails' Adventure 2.

Flame

I got the PS2 version, since its my 1 console system... and really, im dissapointed. I find it ucking retarded that they skipped  Werehog boss. the first one too. then, they skiped a stage, yet NOT the boss? WTF Dimps, WTF. the game otherwise, is good, yet I wanted more Sonic. Werehog is alright I s'pose, but the day stages are the best part. also, the PS2 version has no Japanese/English Audio option. the Audio is set to english. although you can still change the written language. thats what dissapoints me most. also, the vilage map thing is stupid. they might as well have included the hub. you select an area to talk to someone there. the little challenges they give you in the day stages are real fun though. I especially like the time limit challenges. theyre actually doable, unlike another sonic game I know. Im looking at YOU Sonic Heroes.
honestly, out of the two lesser versions, the PR2 one is probably the least pretty ne, since the wii is capable of some sweet ass graphics and effects. the PS2, not so much. all in all though, its good.
although it is true, how the F*ck doesnt anyone ever notice Eggman building all that crap? because theres NO way he built an ENTIRE ship fleet in a secret hidden base. >_> its up there with where does Wily get the funds for HIS [parasitic bomb]. yknow, likewise @ Eggman too.

hey, one thing I actually missed in this game are Goal posts... there are no goal posts in the game other than in the time challenges.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

SubZero

Ugh... For the last freaking time, they DID NOT SKIP A WEREHOG BOSS in the Wii version of the game. If you've made it towards the end of the game in the Wii version, you'd realize that the "Boss" the cinemas don't show you fighting in the Wii version is actually a miniboss that you encounter a number of times throughout the game. They just moved it around to alter the difficulty curve, much like the Wii version gets a miniboss in the second Sonic level that isn't encountered until Empire City in the Ps3/360 versions.

Flame

Im talking PS2 version. the Apotos Night stage. right before you encounter Tails.

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

I can agree with this (minus the viciousness) especially since the English VA is pretty damn good this time around.

STM

I'll admit, when I first heard Chip, he was pretty unfitting for the character. However, you get used to it and it has this cheesy Saturday morning cartoon charm to it.

Jericho

Funny, I looked at it as a Saturday morning cartoon from the jump and was pleasantly surprised. Different storkes I guess? XD

Also, playthrough of Dragon Road Zone Act 1 (360) for anyone who's interested.

That's what I'm talking about too, genius. The Wii and PS2 versions are identical besides controls, just like the PS3/360 versions are identical.

The "boss" you see in that cinema before meeting up with Tails is a miniboss. One you'll fight about a dozen times later on. You're not missing out on anything.

Flame

hm. oh well.
Im still upset at the removal of the africa stage. its retarded that they have it as a boss only continent.

the only one that really bothers me is Chip. but then again, i judt dislike him generally.
Eggman's voice I just love. Better than the Japanese VA. I just like to have the option. makes for a varying experience.

another thing that I was disappointed wasnt in the "other" two versions. I was looking forward to going through that red floating Dragon road. maaan its [parasitic bomb] like that that makes me wish i had a PS3.
but buying a laptop takes precedence... T-T

Well alrighty.  I've had the chance today to play the game further, and I am indeed still having fun with it.  The Sonic levels are simply way past cool.  The detail and speed they put into it is to be commended.  As for the Werehog parts, I still wish they weren't in the game, but in terms of 3-D Platforming, they've actually done a pretty decent job.  The only thing I would change is the music that plays whenever the battle starts.  The night time level music for all the stages I've been to is pretty awesome, in fact all the music is.  But I never really get to hear the night time music cause I'm usually always in a battle.

Overall though, I do indeed want this game.  The only thing I'll have to figure out is which system I'm going to get it for eventually.

You do know that Circuit City is having crazy sales this week. Credit is your friend if treated with respect.

BigManW

So I watched all the videos for the Wii version and it seems like Empire City got cut out.  What else did?  (Aside form apprently the appearances of Knuckles and Shadow but who cares about Shadow)
