My point still stands. Cartoon logic takes priority over "sane" in a cartoon world.

Generally, maybe, but it doesn't have to.
They could've decided to do something that wasn't lame. But did anyway.

『Sonic Unleashed』(『ソニック ワールドアドベンチャー』)はソニックチームとセガがお届けする渾身の自信作です。最高のソニック体験にもうすぐ出会えます!
世界中のソニックファンの皆様、発売を心待ちにしていてください!!

To Sonic fans living outside Japan,

In our previous November 7 post to this home page, we informed you that the release date of Sonic World Adventure in Japan on PS3 and 360 will be delayed. Based on that announcement, some fans living overseas have become concerned that there will be a difference in quality between the version of the game released in Japan and the version released outside of Japan. This is not the case and we apologize for this misunderstanding.

The difference in the international release dates is based on the sales strategy and the manufacturing schedule. There will be no quality difference between the North American/European/Asia release and the Japanese version. Please be assured we are doing our best to deliver a top quality experience to people all over the globe.

We still cannot announce the release date in Japan, but we should be able to do so shortly. Our apologies to Sonic fans in Japan, who we must ask to wait a while longer."

Sonic Team is proud to present you Sonic Unleashed (Sonic World Adventure). You will be able to experience the best Sonic ever in no time!

That's good to know, I was wondering what was going on with the Japanese version of Sonic Unleashed (Sonic World Adventure).

Good stuff; gamerip by week's end.

Since it's on PS2, here's hoping someone will get off their ass and make a psf2 set.

I want this OST so badly by the way. Apotos Day (Windmill Isle Zone) is like the return of the Sonic CD composers, and Spagonia Day (Rooftop Run) just has this amazing sense of adventure contained in song.

Needless to say SEGA wins in the soundtrack department again.

Agreed.  From what I've heard so far, I like the soundtrack a lot.

Oh yeah, so do all systems get the game tomorrow, or just Wii and PS2.  I forget.

I think it's just Wii & PS2 tomorrow, with 360 on the 24th and PS3 on December 3rd was it...?

December 12th for PS3, but that can change. That one's been an anomaly.

Oh, and the 360 one is currently set for release on Thursday.

Here's something to tide your eyes until you can play it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0k4mTdaU4s

A full playthrough of Apotos (Day) on the Wii. We've seen the 360 and PS3's version. Here's what the other side will be packing.

Wow, looks incredible.  Hell, the 3-D part seems like a more controllable Secret Rings, for the most part.  Which is good to me!  XD

Yea, I saw it very recently, and I guess the preferred term for what I did was "eat crow". XD

The other videos weren't selling me as much until I saw this one, and with some of the inside folk saying SEGA should have been pimping this one equally with the HD versions, I guess the positivity is bubbling up inside me. Also, anyone think it was a bit empty at first?

I'd imagine it's because of it being the first level. They want to make it wide open to allow the player to move around and experiment before slowly amping up the difficulty as the game progresses. Just look at how Adabat (the tropical Tahiti-based level) is a little more frantic than Apotos (Mykonos.)

I love the Drifting aspect of him going that fast.

You know at first I was against it because it made Sonic seem too much like a racing game (cue Super Sonic Racing).

Looking at how quick step & drifting have been implemented though, it seems almost like they really came up with a great mechanic to control Sonic's new school "faster faster faster!" style of gameplay.

That does seem to be the case now that I go back and rewatch some parts in the Holoska trailer.

My only complain is that it looks pretty much impossible to die until you get to the boss, but then again it is the first level, so lets see how everything turns out.

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

Nice trailer. Lookin' forward to the final release. With all the hype that Unleashed has gotten since it was revealed some time ago, it seems like actual effort to go back to the core is being put in, and not covered with a blanket *coughs*Sonic360*coughs*.
