Whether it's in-game cheats or a cheat device, do you cheat? Myself, I tend to try to get as far as I can without cheating. If I beat the game without cheats, awesome. If I can't beat the game no matter how hard I try, however, I bust out the cheat device. >>;

Up, Up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Select, Start.

&

B + A then Select, Start for infinite continue. (Adventure Island 1)

Waaaaay back in the days of the Game Genie, yes. When playing Sonic, yes (o/` Up-down, left-right, hold in A and press Start... o/`). If using save states counts as cheating, then yes. Otherwise, nope.

The only time I've ever been forced to cheat is using an Xploder for an infinite health code so I could clear the final stage of Silent Bomber. Other than that, I never cheat. I prefer to earn things the hard way.

I tried a cheating device one time, just because I found it for free in a junk place. It wrecked my memory card and I had to buy another.

Never again.

I bought a Gameshark for my PS2, I cheat for fun.
Or if I want to unlock something but I'm having extreme difficulty doing so.

I don't cheat in multiplayer games though, that's not fun for anybody. D:

I cheat regularly. But that's because of my method of play.

1. Finish the game, merely to see the ending.
2. Finish the game as completely as possible, or as close as I can humanly get on ability alone to 100%.
3. Finish the game with cheats, trying as much fun stuff as comes to mind.

I cheated when i were young (missingno unlimited items) but now i really dislike cheating and cheating is not neccesary for me i can beat all my games without help

Save state if considered cheating, yes.

Generally though, I never cheat. (why should you cheat on RPG anyway?)

Yeah, they can call me a cheater, but I can rest content in the knowledge that it's all skill I've built up over hundreds and hundreds of hours.

I should consider getting a life at some point.

These days, typically, no.

Guitar Hero: World Tour, you BET I used the unlock all songs in Quickplay cheat. Career Mode and the overall tracklist stink.

Used the GameShark on the Battle Network games (thank you Hankchill) to get certain Styles or get all those chips that would be a real time-waster to get. Same for P.A.s.

TMNT2 and Sonic 2 GG were definite candidates for cheats, though.

If by cheat, you mean do fun things in Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo-Tooie, then yes, because who can resist sequence breaking the hell out of the game in Banjo The Hedgehog mode (Fast Characters in Banjo-Tooie), infinite homing grenade eggs, and honeyback, then yes. This came after I played the hell outta both games and pretty much memorized them. Otherwise, I'm a pretty plain jane gamer.

I tend to play games normally, and then break out the cheats for either vengeance or fun. Cheating (and I mean real cheating) in multiplayer is a BIG no-no, though. Just ask the people who were eyewitnesses to me getting millions of points with simple tricks via Gameshark on a Tony Hawk Underground 1 online Trick Attack match.

I only cheat when it's serious business, meaning the bosses look just plain unbeatable, like the likes of the Shroob Princesses in M&L2, and getting all the pokes from the Johto region, since they are so hard to get, especially getting stuff that's out of your reach. $:\$

Only the sort that are included with the games, usually (like console commands or the konami code). Sandbox mode is always fun for a little while!

I'm actually way too lazy to cheat. If a game requires me to cheat in order for me to beat it/see the ending, I simply don't play the game. The only time I ever did anything with Game Shark was with Pokemon Silver. I just loaded up on Cash and Master Balls. This was far, far after I beat the game though.
