Nintendo Power gave Madworld oral sex in the form of 9/10.

A lil something I thought might interest people, especially those who were wondering about the game's challenge...

Quote from: Stormbringer
For those wondering, here's a summary of the Madworld difficulty talk from IGN's NVC podcast :

Normal Mode :
- can go through it in 5-6 hours.
- Start a level with 3 lives.
- Much like a playground, as you're free to experiment your kills on the enemies without too much troubles.
- Enemies AI ramps up. Overall not incredibly hard.

Hard Mode :
- No additional lifes, no continue (meaning you'll have to start a level all over if you die)
- Can get countered while trying to do a finishing move.
- Seems to be more about survival.
- Apparently really freaking hard.

Hard Mode sounds awesome, and basically seems to be right up the alley of a a God Hand vet, like myself!

Less than a week separates us from the BETTER Wii offering from Sega! Can't wait!  0v0

Loved the score. He did an awful lot of complaining for a 9.0 game, though. I hope they're not such huge faults.

Can't wait!

You kiddin'? The main reason I haven't been online as much, is because I've been having TOO MUCH fun messily slaughtering [Oil Man]z!  XD

Whomever said that this game has perhaps a lot more in common with VJ than GH (though it certainly still does) was right. There's definitely a lot that reminds me of VJ. Everything relating to how each punch feels like it's got a lot of power to it, how there's an emphasis to trying to amass the biggest "combo" possible, for massive points? Yeah, this is very VIEWTIFUL...

And the writing is hilarious. They clearly had a lot of fun writing the dialogue in this one.

If I were to describe the unrelenting joy I felt while playing this game in a single sentence it would go as thus: Deep fried Ninjas.

Playing this game makes me forget about all the other shovelware the system has going for it. It also makes me remember the days when things like plot, voice acting, and graphics didn't matter in video games.

I also felt like a kid in a candy store with all the options given to me to kill the nameless thugs in front of me... Albiet a very bloody candy store.

Just leaving this hilarious bit here for enjoyment's sake. Also spoiler tagged because I imagine hearing it in it's proper context would make for a funnier event:

So, Ben, I assume you knew about it already so I'll ask you. What's going on in the game when they say that?

Hmm, signposts through Silver....

WANT. XD

Edit - Seriously thinking about this, I think Platinum could honestly do it, maybe even better than we'd expect.

Oh god XD

So, Ben, I assume you knew about it already so I'll ask you. What's going on in the game when they say that?

Well...
This is actually quite later in the game, and you can pretty much stand to hear it randomly around that time frame.

I'd recommend, if you don't want to miss any thing, turn down everything else in the "Sound" menu to low (1-4) except the commentary (and maybe music, if you're like me). The best part of the game! ^_^
Yeah, but they might make it full of AWESOME!

Oh...
...I have NO doubt that Platinum Games could probably make THE BEST Sonic title, in more than a decade.

My thing? I wouldn't want them to be wasting their time and talent on such a thing. Not when they stand to be making plenty of nice, new IPs. I don't want them to get stuck in a Sonic-flavored "trap".

...on the other hand, a God Hand like game starring Knuckles is something that my friends and I have been bouncing back n forth for a lil while now...  8D
Granted, they could fall into the Sonic Trap, but still, come on...a nice shiny brand new Way Past Cool Sonic game...  8D

I personally wouldn't mind a super sexy new Sonic that's blue and cool~, but Ben is right, their talent is better used on new IPs.

To do that, we would need to get back the stuff that made Sonic a winner back in the day...that includes everything that made 16-bit games so gravy, as well as Jaleel White as his VA again (if necessary to have a VA).

Old school Sonic definitely was "black". My friend had to convince me over the weekend, but the way he put it together, that much is definitely true.

We both agreed that much can't be said necessarily for the current, green-eyed model...  8D

I was convinced with the animation that played after the Sonic CD god end scenario. I mean seriously, launching a friggin' rock to get the last laugh on Robotnik? Then there was the pose after it was over... 8D
