Ahhhh, so rich with quotes, the Turtles are.

Hmmm, I'm trying to think of what other characters I'd love to see in this fighting game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_characters

Start searching.  8D

Another character I could stand to see would definitely be "Hot Head/Warrior Dragon". If any body remembers him...

Protoman Blues

Yeah, I was actually just looking at that list.  So many choices.  I mean, I wasn't even going to say Casey Jones, because he should be a standard, I think!  XD

A regular foot clan ninja that looks no different yet kicks ass?

With this information form the Ngamer magazine, I command this thread to live!

Quote- official title is TMNT: Smash Up
- dark, gritty graphics
- some real-world inspired locations: Manhattan skyline, unspecified jungle arena, motel roof
- defeat opponents by depleting health meter or via stage knock-out, much like the Smash Bros. series
- some context-sensitive moves
- no motion-controlled attacks, but there will be motion controls for other aspects
- levels change as you fight, start in one location and end up in another
- pizza restores health
- Peter Laird (TMNT co-creator) is writing the single-player story
- Mirage (comic publisher) is filling out the roster
- Splinter and the Turtles are the only confirmed fighters thus far
- 4-player online reconfirmed

My life is currently bears and Jojos and everything is great.

so not a ripoff.

What happens in Vegas stays on Youtube. I also stream on Twitch from time to time.

If it doesn't let me play with a friend as we slash, thunk, snikt and thwack our way through hordes of footclan soldier-filled levels, it's not worth looking at.

Unfortunately, nothing really all that new from this particular blurb, except the name.

..."Smash Up". Seriously, guys? You couldn't think of a much more "shellacious" title? TMNT fans, as a whole, would have been able to come up with a better title....20 years ago, when most of us were still in our TMNT pajamas.  :V

Any way, thanks all the same, Taiyo. Still looking forward to this game, I just hope that "crappy title" will be the least of our worries. Don't let us down now, GameArts and Team Ninja...

Hm, kinda like Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

So when you people say "Fighting Game"... do you mean a game like TMNT 1-4... or TMNT Tournament Fighters?

(Either would be cool).

Am I going to buy this?
YOU BET I WILL </shredder>

Yeah, and wtf, Smash Up? What happened to Shell Shock? Shell Shredders? Total Take-Out? Ninja Dentist?

...wait.

Protoman Blues

BTW, besides Ninja Rap, is anyone else really hoping for songs from the Coming Out Of Their Shell Tour?   8D

I'd kick so much ass while listening to Pizza Power.

We'll probably have to re-sign ourselves to make our "own OSTs for listening pleasure".

Any way, Blues...new mission for your enjoyment. Like I said on the other topic, if you get a chance to see Laird and dem at the NY Comic-con, see if you can chew their ears a lil about this game, if possible.

While I would like to see such characters like Slash, Bebop n Rocksteady and even Chote (if any of y'all know who that is, points to you!), now I'm just wondering where the HELL they got that title from. Tell 'em we need a title that will give us more of "SHELL YEAH!". But any thing would be better than "Smash Up".

If enough of people like you hit them up and bother them about it, maybe Mirage will be moved enough to tell Ubi and the devs to change it to something better.

20 years ago I was an embryo, kickin' my mom's shell. lol  ;)

but I'm glad for no motion control fighting. My forearms get tired from Samba de Amigo all day.

Haha, I'll do what I can, oh Viewtiful one.  XD

Good. Gooooooooooooooooooood! [/Palpatine and his Unlimited Power!!!]

Damn the notion that Maryland Comic-Con isn't until September!

I'm curious if you've ever been to Otakon.  How is it, if you have?

HokutoNoBen

I've been going to Otakon since '99, actually. Yeah. 8D

Any way, it's usually a good con experience, and the question usually is less in the way of "is it any good", so much that it becomes "how good is it".

Two years ago, we were graced with Steve Blum and Tomokazu Seki coming around, who both held individual panels and autograph sessions. I got Blum to autograph the back of my Advent Children Vincent figure (still in box). He's really a nice guy, and I think he may have been the first one who may have leaked the information about "Wolverine and the Xmen". Which was nice.

I was unfortunately unable to get close to Seki at all...too bad, too, I wanted him to sign my "Viewtiful Joe: Battle Carnival"! ;O;

Last year, Kappei Yamaguchi (Ranma, Inuyasha, Yattaro from Kyatto Ninden) and Derek Stephen Prince were the main VAs I got to see. Also were great guys.

Before I had REAL money, and knew about Play-Asia, Otakon and its local vendors who came to town, were my most prevalent sources of getting some nice swag. Recent years, that's not so much the case, but believe it or not...my first year there, I snatched up one of those Rockman 8 figures of Blues, that you have to put together. It was so funny, having that figure right next to my "Super Fighting Robot!" Protoman.  8D

Kick ass and lucky!  I've been meaning to drive/train down to the Balt and check it out one year.  LoL, maybe once I have that "REAL Money" you're talking about, I shall.

HokutoNoBen

Well, in any case, you do have a measure of time to play with. Otakon isn't until July 17-19 this year.

So, if you and Lou think you may stand to drop by and see "Charm City" for yourself, maybe we could hook up, and make sure your first time at Otakon, is a most SEXCELLENT one.  ;)

Protoman Blues

That would indeed kick-ze-ass.  LoL, more or less I probably won't have money by then either, but hey anything's possible!  I do play the lotto!   8)

Either way though, I shall try to talk to Laird and let him know that we demand the Coming Out Of Our Shell Tour music in our hopefully newly named TMNT Smash Game.  Perhaps TMNT: Cowabrawla!    8D

HokutoNoBen

PR report came out, with a bevvy of new pics.

:O

Never saw Leo do anything of THAT sort before...

So far, it still looks ok. But again...that name...it'll be on you, Blues!

Protoman Blues

Hey, I'm gonna suggest Cowabrawla instead!   8D

Fxeni

This is one knockoff I'll be willing to play, assuming it turns out good :P
