Bass Hair Color is...?

I was making a sprite of Bass without Model on. So i started looking on Google.
No luck, i searched various attempts. Close i could find was yellow, but that was fanart.
So, what IS the offical color for Classic Bass Hair?

He doesnt have one. (yet) Though I would assume either brown or black, probably black, since it would fit in better with his armor. Hell, it might even be purple.

Considering he was made purely for fighting, I would be a little surprised to hear he had any.

It's questionable if he even HAS hair.  That helmet might be built right into his head.  Megaman and Protoman weren't originally built for combat, so having hair would be sort of a vestige of their pre-combat forms.

Most of the fanartists seem to draw his hair as silver though.

See, you'd think so, but then you look at Zero. I mean come on, what possible use is a giant flowing ponytail in combat at all?

Anyways, I've always imagined his hair being a dark shade of purple. Think the Joker's hair in Batman The Animated Series, how it's black except for where the light hits it.

Well, this is a sprite I made not too long ago of bass using a casual outfit, I really think blonde hair would take the badass out of him, but it looks damn cool.

For some reason I imagine Bass as a redhead. Mega Man has black hair, Proto Man has brown or silver hair (EXE's fault), and Zero is blonde. So that leaves redhead.

Both Rock and Blues have Brown hair.

Pretty sure none of the official artwork ever depicted classic Megaman with brown hair.  It's always black or blue.  Later Megamen such as Trigger, EXE, Geo, Vent, and Aile all had brown hair (and green eyes as I recall) but the original had black hair (and blue eyes).  The decision was probably a technical limitation at the time, but non 8-bit games also gave him black hair, so it seems they stuck with it.

Though given the fact that most of the later Megaman had brown hair and green eyes, it's easy to see how people can make the mistake.  I see a lot fanartists drawing classic rock with green eyes for example.

There is that one picture by Hideki of Rock, Roll, Blues and Duo at the beach, which shows Rock as having brown hair. (and has blues with his pompadour
from 8 )

Which actually does beg the question. what IS Rock's ACTUAL hair color? It seems to vary depending on the circumstance. for the in game helmetless sprite, its always black, (and in one of those Complete works illustrations) in cutscenes its blue, and in other artwork, its brown.

I'm also a bit puzzled on Rock's true hair color. Though, the only time it's used as blue is for certain cutscenes in the NES-styled games, due to limitations.

Same here. My reasoning for this, is the whole "red-headed stepchild" thing. As in, Bass is similar (except design-wise, of course) to Mega Man, but isn't related.

Well, that, and he's the least loyal of Dr. Wily's robots.

Yeah, I asked him what his hair color was.  IT WAS ME!   

I also asked him what color it was, but he didn't answer.  If he said fucia, then it was after the panel.  Glad someone got that tidbit of info afterwards.  It was nagging at me! 

His favorite obscure Robot Master is Kornoman.  I dunno, it seeme dimportant to know what his favorite obscure robot master was.
