I have no problem with gems themselves, but I can easily see how the DLC gems can be a nightmare for people who want to run tournaments.

Above all else we'll have to wait until the game drops to see exactly how gems are handled. If all gems are available on the disk (with DLC being a shortcut for unlocking them), then we'll be fine.  On the other hand, if certain gems are DLC exclusive then we have a major problem.  I remember it being stated that gems couldn't be turned off, so it really brings the game's tournament viability into question.

Lol, I hope you're being sarcastic.  Honestly, I think people are seriously overreacting to this whole gems thing.  Sure, it gives you access to stat boosts, but that's about it (unless you use those easy-mode gems that end up nerfing your character).  The core gameplay will be same either way.  The only legit problem I see is having DLC/Pre-order exclusive gems, and even then those don't look too OP or anything (some of them even take up 2 slots).  From what I've heard they'll probably be banned at tournaments, given the long select time and said pre-order exclusiveness.

Yeah, I was to a degree. I can see both sides of it. I can see where it increases strategy, but also admit it can tip the balance too far one way for some people to allow them.

I also hope they dont lead to KO's that are too quick.

I must have missed the BBAMM rumor. I only remember the blue and yellow Lupinko comment, figuring blue meant Mega Man and yellow meant Pac Man. Guess yellow applied to both.

Although, Gonzo's idea of Frank West is an interesting possibility as well. And not really a troll option either. Frank's pretty well received in UMvC3.

Looks like it which is what feels insulting after all that happened last year, I don't really see how it's a joke game other than "lol gems" and it's not a joke game to Capcom at all at least so you'd expect them to treat the blue guy properly, and he's not exclusive to anything :/

Hell I'd take an 8-bit Rock over BBA since apparently Pacman will be riding Mokujin, so they were obviously going for something silly >__>

I'm disappointed with most of the people commenting on this at TMMN, though that might just be because I disagree.

BBA-MM being playable in a fighting game might be funny if not for the current state of the franchise. And really, why aren't we allowed to call troll on this? It's certainly looking that way...
