At least I won't be using gems; but Akuma being 4 dollahs? I'd say that guy owes me a dollar more if he's paired with Ogre! Also, that bonus will also take the "challenge" out of "challenge mode" in the main game, I'd rather do it the hard way!  

Would've been better if it was Mokujin in his place though with Dan; two joke characters being cheap DLCs to make up for the lazy way out, rather than two big guys.

He's cameo-ing in the trial mode as a training dummy.

If that's the case, there's probably negative feedback from fans towards this. I hate how Street Fighter's gone srs bsnss now.. I miss the comedic aspects of the series myself.

There actually hasn't been. For the most part it seems as if the majority of the fanbase just shrugged their shoulders and went on with their lives.
Honestly, this game has enough joke characters, even if they are sony exclusive (Though honestly I'd be surprised if Pacman and Megaman didn't end up being free or exceedingly cheap dlc for the 360). There was actually more backlash when it was announced that he would be in SF4 than there was when Ono said he was dead in SFxT.

Personally I don't see that happening. Like I said, he's not a terribly popular character anyway, and he doesn't exist for any other purpose than to be a terrible character to play as. Serving as the trial mode dummy is probably the most useful he's ever been.

When the Vita version comes out in the fall, in addition to coming with Christie, Lei, Cody and Guy already included, 8 more people will also be packed in: Blanka, Dudley, Elena, Sakura, Alisa, Jack, Lars and Bryan. So console will likely get the other 8 sometime after the first batch. I'd wager when the Vita version arrives, an updated disc release with all the DLC will come out on console as well, just like AE did and what MK9 is doing. Watching Wednesday Night Fights last week, I'm a bit more curious about the game. But I'm not about to pay $84 for it.
