Any way, the main thing I'm hoping is that the 8-bit MM sprite model being showcased indicates that there may be a way to possibly import NES/SNES sprites into the mix. Or at least those those "Xtreme" sprites...

A hand held gun being the Z-buster; rectified in Z-collection. Confusing what a Decoy is by naming them Carbons and somehow introducing yet another name; Betas. Confusing the mankind playback plan with what Juno was doing. Changing the origin of Rock Voulnutt's name. "What a fine young man she is.", abbreviating terms like crazy and cutting out a lot of content.

-The Reploid War lasting centuries while we're still in the same century (21XX)
-Zero acting weird to an anti-virus while he only acts weird to the virus itself.
-Exclusion of X's in-depth schematics and Right's deeper warning about worrying.
-Nearly all dates in Cain's Journal being off, two journal dates being unified as one, and there being stuff about Zero in the Sigma rebellion date.

-Lab accident before the unveiling of the first six robots in which one robots goes array and sets the lab on fire. An enraged Wily accusing Light of jealousy and intentionally sabotaging the experiment; which leads to Wily stealing the plans of the industrial robots and disappearing for several months.
-Rock being a courageous male human wearing a robot shell so that Wily cannot reprogram MegaMan.
-Rush transformations having impossible specs. No way Rush Marine can move that fast!

The least you folks could do is fix up the TV Tropes articles for the Mega Man series. I mean, after all, only a few of the RMs's personalities have been mentioned there, and someone erroneously used Quint's data card info from the US RM&F, for instance.

They dont make it interesting. It makes it annoying and confusing. For example, I didnt know X5 was THAT badly translate where they changed thing around. (Comrade thing aside, but I simply thought that was a mistake due to vague Japanese writing) I want to know the story, not the localization team's own fanwank that they insert into the story.

The Japanese version does not label who is speaking and when; the colors, text
speed, and speech patterns are instead used to identify characters. Since the
US version -does- list who is speaking, I won't bother adding it in to the
other versions like I did in X1, excepting the rare instances when different
people talk in the Japanese version. Sagesse's name is changed to Serges in
the US version, and X's to Mega Man, so be aware of that as you read.

A (p) in the text means a short pause before the rest of the characters are
displayed. Also, Sigma's next-to-last line slows down as it displays, having
more and more time between each character (his scream is at fast speed, like
Agile's text) - I've removed all mentions of speed from the script otherwise.
(for reference, Agile speaks fast, Violen speaks slow, and everyone else uses
the same text speed except as mentioned above)

X1 script on GameFAQs, Vile battle on Sigma 1:
"I'll send you to be together with your precious Zero!!"

According to a japanese speaker at the time who was keeping tabs on the first reason these retranslations were being done (a retranslation ROM project), Vile says "Zero died like a dog" (died in vain) and that X will soon join him.

I don't remember exactly what "Boco" claimed to it, but ultimately that line was not in the patched ROM - and the guy overseeing the project (coding the changes and such) wasn't going to arbitrarily change it if it happened to be untrue.

So while you're not going to find anything glaringly-Yaoi-like, now that's some lot of poetic license there. Whenever things get fuddly-cuddly I'd take it with a grain of salt.

After all you're talking about someone who claimed Magma Dragoon is jealous of X and Zero's relationship and that's why he wants to destroy either of them.

And as for what the thread is... was about... the teaser didn't do anything for me.

MMOCW/MMXOCW may be primarilly art books, but there's still a *LOT* of behind-the-scenes info regarding developer intentions and design inspiration. Also some character descriptions that clarify previously ambiguous/unclear points, including specifying that Iris had the hots for Zero during Erasure (previous translations stated that in the context of saving her life, thus implying their relationship as new to the Repliforce War; this is not actually the case).

-Exclusion of X's in-depth schematics and Right's deeper warning about worrying.
-Nearly all dates in Cain's Journal being off, two journal dates being unified as one, and there being stuff about Zero in the Sigma rebellion date.

-Lab accident before the unveiling of the first six robots in which one robots goes array and sets the lab on fire. An enraged Wily accusing Light of jealousy and intentionally sabotaging the experiment; which leads to Wily stealing the plans of the industrial robots and disappearing for several months.
-Rock being a courageous male human wearing a robot shell so that Wily cannot reprogram MegaMan.
-Rush transformations having impossible specs. No way Rush Marine can move that fast!
-Zero being X's trusted robocanine that died in X1. Aaarf, he wants one!

And I probably forgot a LOT of things.

Well, by simply listing "inconsistent names everywhere", you rule out most of the easy stuff. It might be worth noting that it's not even just character names. Force Armor and Great Legacy come to mind.

Items from earlier in the discussion not in that list are the missing 5th Command Mission newbie and the infamous Laguz Island bathroom of evil.

-I know that Marshmallow Man has contested the notion of Zero's "awakening" being incomplete in X5. This is presumably not in the original script.

-Alia's last line in the Zeroless X6 ending was tweaked a bit to be more suggestive as to her having an attachment to X.

-"Mega Man" starring in X-series games has been going on as recently as X8.

-Pretty much all mentions of Cain in the X4 manual. His creating Double, and the Cain Labs directive about restructuring the 17th and 0th Hunter Units (another manual point which is contradictory to the game storyline, I might add).

MMOCW/MMXOCW add to existing Japanese books and thus primarily focus on art/development, but even so, there are a few nifty tidbits. Ever wonder if Berkana ever had a legitimate occupation? That's in there.
