she's getting more and more reduced to a background character.
And Ushio is getting that attention instead now. >.>;

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

You have no idea what kind of thoughts this sentence brings to mind.

Flame

Murderous thoughts?
I dont know why, But Im amused by Ushio. He was a dick who was sure to get nowhere in life when he was in High School, and now he's the opposite. Haha... he actually grew up. XD
BTW, lools like Ushios gonna have a few more scars now. 8D

Found out that Freedom is actually not out yet. Only the TV version in 5D's is being used. The full song comes out 9/2/09

So all the hate is finally gone from this thread?

What hate?

This.

I actually love this series, but I won't deny it has some flaws, mainly that all the promising twists and turns of the story turned out to be somewhat weak and boring and generally more like one would expect it from this kind of series, in particular the thing with the souls of those who were "sacrificed" returning back to normal. Not to mention that it looks like they managed to ruin the relationship between Jack and Carly (aka "Retributionshipping") by bringing her back to life and have her remember nothing from when she was a Dark Signer. Which on second thought doesn't entirely make sense, because she came to the realization that she fell in love with Jack BEFORE she died.

Oh yeah, and Aki gets more and more like the other primary female cast from the previous shows, pretty useless. She was such an awesome character but they reduce her to almost nothing now.

Flame

No, what  makes no sense about Carly, is that she actually knows she was a Dark Signer. If She cannot remember her time as one, how the hell does she remember that she WAS one? You dont know youve become a Dark Signer until you actually die. In her case, when the hummingbird appeared to her. She became a dark Signer, and automatically knew it. Well... no. That was her Dark Signer persona. the "real" Carly that came to after battling Divine didnt quite know she was a Dark Signer until Misty came and picked her up. either way, she didnt learn she became one UNTIL after she died and was reborn. So she really shouldnt remember she even was one.

also, the thing on the souls, I can see as Rudger and Rex sacrificing themselves to revive the others... Though they did not exactly explain why Rex and Rudger weren't revived as well. They just sort of "walked into the light" with out an explanation.

Its funny that we have not yet seen Jack actually use his D wheels Duel disk outside of his D wheel. XD

also, I looked at it again in better quality, and Yeah. I was right. The art style is definitely off in the intro. its like it wasnt drawn by the usual folks, but imitated. especially the faces. but I dont find it that bad. the intro is nice. and so is the song.

Apparently jack grew a goatee.

That's how crappy the OP animation is this time.

KILL ME.

Flame

Well I don't mind. It goes by quickly, and the song is pure win. Its tied with Last Train  for my favorite opening.

BTW, Saber, where did you learn that the op was handed over to Korea to be made?

You can SEE it.

Check the animation quality thread on Janime for more details.

Flame

Doesnt mean much, No anime is free from QUALITY, just remember Casshern sins. It had its moments too. ALTHOUGH, the one thing that I noticed at first glance was the noses. the end of the opening, they show the side shots of Jack, then Yusei and then Crow on their bikes, coming on screen. The noses looked different from the usual Yugioh noses.

Rin

The thing I hated in Duel Monsters the most, was the constant change in animation quality. And they were so easily noticeable that it was just stupid. I mean, Jesus, in one episode the characters look one way in another one they look completely different. I have only one art style for that show which I like, and it usually has also very awesome animation. But [tornado fang], the rest is horrible. They didn't even TRY to be consistent.

So I was happy to see that in this show(and GX too), even if animation is sometimes weak, at least the art style is mostly consistent. It's a big relief.

Flame

I was so surprised in the movie that 4kids actually decided to translate the full cards instead of just cut them up. it pisses me off a bit that one moment, they show the vback of the card how it should look, then the next, its the black dot on the red card. >.>; use one or the other, seriously.

Dammit, subtank needs to get in here to make some Mikage and Aki yuri!!!

Or at least make some very sexxxy art about the series.

Like a rule 63 yusei. Hmm, I think that'd be very satisfying.

Yeah, I saw that a long time ago.

Flame

Who saw 66?
BOOM, Headshot. 8D Savior Star Dragon is really awesome. So it was a robot after all. and it was a security test robot as well? I though so. Why? Ghost's helmet looked like the Security helmet.

also, Yusei shows his 1337 hacking skills yet again. 8D

Oh wow. Apparently, the 4Kids dub mistook Yusei's (initial) birthmark, and called it the Dragon HEAD.
lol, 4shits. Though in their defense I at first also thought it was the head, because it looks like a face.

Holy [parasitic bomb], Next episode sees the return of the old stationary Kaiba dueling station.

Wow, ^68 kinda made me tear up a bit. :\ It was nice to actually see a duel ring again since the original Yugioh though.
