"What's the matter with you?" snapped Aeon, glaring at the black-haired catgirl, "You're supposed to be a villain!"
"I...I...I don't wanna do this anymore!" cried Liquorice, clinging onto Aeon's leg. Her tears were more pathetic and amusing than downright sad.
"Oi vey," mumbled Aeon, slapping his palm over his face and groaning. There was no way he was getting paid now, which meant his efforts to aid Roa were for nothing...and Aeon hated doing things for nothing. He turned on his heel and stormed off.
"Hey, where're you going?" called Nick.
"Home! Outta here! Anywhere away from you losers!"
"You can't just leave now," said Nick, "What about RPM?"
"Screw the damned place! Let Vamp McFemme-Features do what he likes, I've had enough."
Nick frowned. "I knew you were a mean-spirited, cold-hearted, tempermental jerk, Aeon, but...I didn't think you were a coward."
The assassin froze in his paces, and visciously whirled around. "What'd you say?!"
"You heard me, you're a coward! Walking away like this, when you could be doing something to help..."
"I've never done a good deed in my life," snarled Aeon, "Why would this be any different?"
Nick smirked. "Oh yeah? What about that time we all fought Blackmore? Remember that?"
Aeon halted, as though the mere memory embarassed him. "Th-that was...that was only 'cos I thought I'd get a reward from the Princess!"
Nick couldn't help but smile even more. "Don't try to pretend, Aeon," he said sweetly, "You wanted to help us. We all put our hands together, remember? You, me, Mint, Yuki, Eli, Scarlet, Quinn..."
"SHUT UP!" he shouted. Then he sighed. Try as he might, there was no denying it; he had helped them out way back then. "I remember..."
