Rosenkreuzstilette is to me one of the best Mega Man-clones because it was actually fun to play, unlike Megamari where it makes you want to throw the controller at the monitor in frustration. Very good storyline, and it really sticks to the old NES Mega Man gameplay that fans know and love.

... The hell? MegaMari isn't that hard. Yeah, the swarms of enemies and bullets may seem overwhelming, but it's all very manageable. You just have to take your time progressing through the levels. I'm not going to comment on RKZ other than; I really, really hate the animu look of the game. Also, lol @ story in doujin game.

@ Chainsaw Guitar: Mega Mari(o) does have an anime look (Traditional loldark look, but whatever), and yet you crit RKZ's art, lol.

Worms clone, but highly addicting, it's also got online play.. for FREE! And the frikkin' Shoryuken! Plus Hedgehogs.

Might and Magic IX- such a wrong step for such a great series.
Final Fantasy VII- it wasn't so bad when I didn't understand english. Being so over-rated doesn't help it either.

Funny is that I got 10-times more frustrated while playing like two stage of Rosenkreuzstilette then from playing entire Megamari.
And truth to be told Megamari wasn't even that hard, it was still that "hard yet entertaining" kind of hard. Only Reimu was extremely cheap with that pissy-boss mode of hers.

Everything in MegaMari has a pattern where you can avoid attacks.
If you move as little as you can, you can go through the bullet hells by hiding in the gaps between those bullets.

In my case I can't really list any "absolute best" games, but I can give these serieses the stamp of awesome:

-Mega Man (I know you expected this)
-Valkyrie Profile
-Golden Sun
-Tales of-
-Castlevania
-Metal Gear Solid
-Policenauts

But, the worst game I have ever owned is E.T - 10th Anniversary Edition for Game Boy Advance. It has nothing to do with the Atari 2600 game, but still it's horrible. It was an inside-joke why a buddy of mine bought it for me.
