Why does Capcom like Guts Man so much?

How did Guts Man turn from just that boss in MM1 to an internet meme that features his glutes? Guts Man was just a boss in MM1, he reappeared in Mega Man 2 as Guts Dozer, there was a huge Guts Man like robot named Gamma, Stone Man looks like a skinner version of Guts Man, the a quite a few enemies in the games with his jaw and Guts Man appears again in MM7 as a new and improved Fortress Boss. I have to ask and with a bit of curiosity as to why Inafune likes Guts Man so much? Is it his design, his jaw or just that ass?

Beats me, but the meme is understandable--the video was funny, and the idea that Mega was able to identify Gutsman based on ass alone (though I'm leaning more towards "build + color scheme") was also funny.

Guts Man is not Inafune´s fav as far as I know, but in game he is Wily´s favourite

^^That might explain a bit, really. At least, he wasn't the MM1 representative chosen for one of the Weapon Archive units (in MM10). MM9's already given us our Guts Man quota, with Concrete Man.

On a side note, Wood Man is one of Wily's favorite creations, apparently. As of now, he's returned in MM8 and got to be MM2's rep, for one of the WAs.

Edit: Oh, wait, I just realized that Solar Man also has a "Guts Man" faceplate.

Edit 2: But hey, I don't mind all the Guts Man love. After all, Guts Man's one of my favorite MM1 RMs.

Capcom had nothing to do with the Gutsman's ass meme.

I think the series of robots with a "Gutsman's jaw" is just a unique design element that is simply repeated for the sake of artistic consistancy.  Sort of like the "no headed" robot design introduced in Airman.

There's a few robots that get used over and over again from MMs 1 and 2.  But Guts sure does get preferencial treatment.  I don't think it's even been asked why that was so.  Elecman was Inafune's favorite, i believe.

Was that RingMan's stage music?  I always thought that part sounded like the FireMan song, but now that you mention it, CutMan's song has a part like that too.

Don't forget that CutMan also appeared as KUNG FU CUTMAN!

I think that was a rare insertion of the plot into the game.  I think it meant that Wily planned to take over the world with an army of Gutsmen and that MM stopped him.  That or Wily decided to use them as statued in his fortress.

I find it kind of ironic how Cut Man and Guts Man made way more appearances throughout the rest of the series than Elec Man has, even though Inafune once said that HE was his favorite Robot Master.

Gutsman? Come on! It's frickin' Guts Man! WTF is a Guts? You have Cutman (he cuts stuff), Bombman (throws bombs) Iceman, Fireman, and Elecman (Ice, Fire, and Electricity, derrr...)... Gutsman (has... lots of guts?) Doesn't make sense really, but he's awesome!
