It is.  I have no idea what possible connection one may draw between Bon and a generic green robot.

And Frag, if you're going to bother looking into Japan-only stuff, you should be getting yourself equipped with Namco X Capcom.  You would then know who Baby is, or more importantly, who he isn't (plus it happens to be a frikkin' awesome game).
