I heard from another topic that Capcom was making Maverick Hunter X6.  I think this is fantastic, because my favorite part of X6 was saving floating reploids from being tentacle raped.  Since this will be a complete graphical remake of X6, I thought they could revamp the rescue system as well.  I've listed several ways to improve upon it:

• Savable reploids should appear during boss fights.

• Reploids must be escorted to "safe zones" after touching them, instead of instantly being teleported out of the stage.  During this period, they can be damaged by everything that damages the player.  The amount of HP they have is determined by your HUNTER RANK IN THE NEW NIGHTMARE SYSTEM!

• Each reploid should grant access to a critical item, instead of just half of them.  And more critical.  For example, the very first reploid you encounter unlocks the ability to save your game.  If it dies, you cannot save.

• There should be a 3D vehicle stage with savable reploids, like that one level in X7.  The bomb defusing objective under a time limit was a nice touch, but they could have made it underwater and added environmental damage, like electric seaweed.

Discuss.

Why not during the Stage Select screen as well?

Hmmm, nothing to ass here.

I'd add in another one for getting into Light Capsules.  If this reploid dies, no power ups.  Also, perhaps another reploid where if he dies, Zero gets brought back to the X3 style of dying once makes him unavailable for the rest of the game.

Don't think I can add anything to this either.

MHX6 sounds like a winner to me.

Oh noes.....

Stage Select is an old fad.

Do the saveable reploids during boss fights include the Sigma final boss fight too?
Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

Sub Tank

Yes.  But you only have to save them if you want to see the ending.

Sakura Leic

Lol, and I bet if you can't save the one in the intro stage you can't rescue Zero or fight High Max and Dynamo. >0<

What if I want to see them get tentacle raped?

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Karai

Then you have to save at least 30 of them. Before that you see only censor bars.

Tickle Buffalo

The game should delete itself if you fail to save anyone.

Only casuals need second chances.

Thanatos-Zero

I can see now Ab.. ehm X´s Oddessey in the front of my very eyes. What happens if you fail to save atleast half of the Reploids? This can´t go out well for X and Zero.  >U<

obviously you need half of them to dash.
Never seen the bad endings of the Oddworld games?

Nah, you need half to be able to jump. You get the dash if you get all of them.

Gaia

You need rescue like 40 or so reploids to aquire the charging ability as X, and the Z-Buster as Zero.  >w<

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Absolutely brilliant

VixyNyan

For each stage you have found ALL reploids (16 of them), you get one ability for your character.

This counts for both X and Zero (if you found him). They each get 8 different abilities. (A total of 128 reploids)

These are things that gives them more mobility and different attack style. >v<

Things like dashing, wall-climbing, and 6 other things for both of them. ^^

If you have 0 reploids, you are game over instantly.
