This guy is hacking Zero to be fully playable in X3. Zero is now FULLY playable, much in the way he was in Xtreme 2. None of that bullshit semi-playable stuff from X3, he gets weapons, he gets hearts and subtanks, and he gets armor. (yes armor)

It is pretty much finished, and although a few touches would be welcome here and there, he has stated he will not adress them until he regains his computer with his notes and materials, which was confiscated by police due to some bullshit.

link to his project topic on X9
http://megamanx9.com/forum/index.php?/topic/2807-mega-man-x3-zero-project-complete/

And his Romhacking submission
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/888/

Following that, he has started work on making Zero playable, period, in X2. Again with his own dialogue and his own [parasitic bomb].

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Sometimes I wished he had his original 3 sabre slash combo, if that's even do-able in the ROM. Looks like the sprites have already been made.
Also, when he shoots up in the air, he still looks a bit like X in the face area. But yea, it's nice that they made Zero finally more playable. :)

okay so i posted a thread on this forum before about a fangame i am making called megaman chrome, it was full of complete and utter drama so i deleted it. it got some falls before, major ones. but i'm now pretty sure i'm on the track of a "solid" project. and blame donutyoshi for that too, tell him that which does not kill you makes you stronger

anyways here is some improved gameplay of megaman chrome, the stage is for erupt man......and yes the framerate is slow, blame the animated tiles

tileset is from average-hanzo on deviantart, edited to red by me. so what do you think?

There must be a trick to get the animated tiles to not affect framerate, considering Bubble Man's stage and many others. Probably just a quick google away.

The volcano at the end looks rather out of place, art-style-wise, though.

Special Mode is a mini-game type thing, and maybe we will see other things too. ^^

Special Items
Shippu no Piasu (Pierce of the Hurricane) (Gale, Hurricane, etc)
Acid Ace (Wing Blade)
Harp Note (Shock Note)
Ox Fire (Burning Punch)

Soundtrack rip~ :cookie:

Rockman Freak Original Soundtrack (Doujin Fan Project)

I spent some time getting info about the composers (Mohei & Puyo-kichi) and adding their site info and things into the music files.
Hope you like. And the site has 2 extra songs too. ^^;

quite frankly, I find RM4-MI to be the hardest RM4 hack by far. The game is so different, I don't understand why the designer doesn't go all the way to change the graphics as well. They just added extra enemies & reprogrammed the robot masters. :-/

I played a few stages last night, and I really liked the heat haze effect in... Drillman's stage was it? (don't recall, too busy dying IWBTG-style)

EDIT: Oooh, it was in Pharaoh and Dust!

EDIT2:

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

you know, looking at that video, i have to wonder, Why does many of the romchackers have the false mentality that making the game BS harder to the point of only being beatable with save states makes it a good hack?.

Even Rockman No Constancy seemed UN-enjoyable at times because of the aggressive AIs, AND i played that game on a TV on an EMU on PSX, to have the experience, now while Rockman 4 MI does have some kickass design ideas, it also falls from the same trap A LOT of hackers felt into it, IS JUST WAY TOO HARD TO ACTUALLY BE ENJOYED, is not fun, is just frustration and pain, this is what its know as bad difficulty or as i like to called it, Kaizo Difficulty, you know, like those plethora of Mario Hacks with levels designs which only porpusse were to make it playable trough emulators and make people suffer?

Sadly 4MI is kinda near to that trap, if only because of the lack of blinking time and
that wily capsule fight
there should be a little bit more of balance, dont you think, the problem is that a lot of this hacks, are made to have been played on emulators with save states and not on actual console, and is kinda of a torture, why not making the game REAL FUN, a little challenge is fine but cmon.

now on the other side and responding to N-Mario, maybe because Puresabe was going for re-imagining Megaman 4, and take a new spin on it while having ideas and design elements and nods from the other games, while he could just going for a Rockman No Constancy way of borrowing tilesets from other games, this hack is not a re skinned megaman 4, is a unique take on the game, BUT, not without that issue i mentioned.

Usually hacks are made by seriously dedicated fans, to whom the regular games have become much too easy, so they make it hard because they want a decent challenge, just like us.

There is decent challenge and then there is IWBTG. R4MI is somewhere in between. Though those design choices they made in the game are awesome and I wish Capcom would have done something like that....but I digress

check out the videos posted by this particular guy, he went through the whole thing without ever getting hit, but... he used savestates though un-fortantely. :(

japanese rom hackers are just naturally the type to always make extremely difficult hacks. I dont know but it's just like their nature or something like that, megaman... mario... whatever it may be.

Well a fan game, but looks to have some pretty good development, found this out from the Mega Man Legends 100,000 strong page. MML3 fan version. Always wanted to start one myself, just couldn't find the right people, hope this does go good though.

Bumping this to share one of the projects I've been working on / leading (and it's getting somewhere after a few weeks of work):

also bugger me britches we on the team know the void is creeping in, Exdeath won't steal the game.

The projected project is a MM1 remake (but it's more of a new take on / reboot of the original game than treading on old ground) with new stage design, et all. I'm hoping to have a demo out by December at the latest of the original MM1 Cutman stage for a basic example of how the engine feels / works.

Hopefully people like what they see, toodles.

Haven't worked on my MegaMan game, even though I built a new engine, which I stopped working on in July
https://www.deviantart.com/n64mario84/art/Silly-Little-MegaMan-Game-Engine-Prototype-Screens-753609821

Here is a little gimmick involving ladders I was thinking about for the game engine demonstration.

The game engine itself is pretty much self explanatory. Though the fan game I wanted to make with this didn't go beyond the game's engine, unfortunately. :P

The majority of it was designing an options screen, with an NES palette selector to give players their choice of their favorite NES colors in this fan game that never was. :-/

Umm.... Thanks......? I guess? The video links don't work (on this forum, anyway). Don't know what to say about that.

Anyway, if the fan game was ever continued in development, I would prob make a new thread about it. But sadly there hasn't been any much progress other than what is shown on the screen shots. So like, there's no reason for any celebration for such a basic thing.
