This is something I had to be told repeatedly before I finally realized it. In the case of depression like this, saying stuff like that feeds it, and draws you deeper into the darkness, into the despair. Try your damnedest to remain positive, and the darkness should go away. Sure, the depression may remain in some capacity, but don't let it control you. You aren't pointless, worthless, a waste, any of that.

In fact, I find you to be a pretty cool guy. So chin up; pull yourself out of the abyss and step back into the light.

's not just about being positive. Being cheerful doesn't make [parasitic bomb] go away by itself. What does help, is simply getting ahold of yourself, slapping yourself in the face and getting realistic. Then thinking of ways to clean up the [parasitic bomb] around you, and doing so. There's almost always a solution for anything you're in, you just gotta be man enough to just do it.

Positive that what things will turn out okay. But nobody should be cheerful just for the sake of being. Forcing happiness doesn't help.

However, trying to dwell on happier thoughts can breed a happier attitude. At least, it has in my experience.

Usually doesn't work for me, I just say what's done is done and somehow I always bounce back at an amazing rate.
