Are matters like honor and chivalry a copout nowadays? Don't get me wrong, there is a time and a place for it but it seems with all the pragmatism and ways to hurt someone, it seems to me that the whole honor thing is only a copout.

Because back in the day, the United States thought it was a good idea to ditch the European vernacular and make up their own, IIRC.
