Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst; The road to a free RPM party gaming

Here's the thing... SCHTHACK is a private server for Sonic Team's PSO Blue Burst MMORPG.

It's a server where you, without wasting a single penny, can play this game online, with other RPM members. lolwut

What's the catch? Well, you'd have to register an account and install the game first. meow

Here's how you do it.

Register your own account and wait for the activation email to show up.

Download the game and the necessary patches through one of these steps:

NEW Install: Download from Megaupload

[spoiler=OLD Install]1. Get them straight from the website.

2. Or read through this step-by-step tutorial to find the downloads you need.
(Djorama's Installer works the best, since everything's prepared already)[/spoiler]

Oh, if you have problem typing with Japanese language settings, maybe this EXE will help.
Download and place it in the PSOBB folder, and use that EXE for gaming, instead of the old EXE.
Change options on the old EXE only when you need to change settings.

Avast is phail. Try some less paranoid virus scanners. they work, especially Spybot. Also, I have you on my MSN..

I'm still new to this game, never played the Phantasy Star series before, so I'm not sure.

I'll go now. Usually in Lobby 3 in the Skyline Ship Block 2.

EDIT: Currently create my own Party Room in Lobby 1 of Skyline called VC Training.

I stopped playing it also. Life got busy with school and my job and whatever time I had left is being toiled toward my console games.

On top of that, the exe began giving errors on boot up after I tried to open it and it crashed due to a missing bitmap while updating. Ah well.

I finally got around to getting it installed.

I've got two characters (H.Knight and TAoR), and I would use the Horizon ship, but it doesn't appear in my ship list.

I don't really visit the same lobby too often, depends on how many people I can find. But I'm typically on the Skyline ship.

Oh, I now have a HUmar named Sin Aegia, and a FOnewm named Shi'zel.

Sin Aegia uses the Sonic skin. For fun.

Online Action RPG.

Kill the mobs to get EXP, max level is 200.
While you learn the skill/tech from Techdisk, the level of skill is up to the Disk level. Max is 30.

The game has 3 classes, 3 races

Hunter(HU) - Melee class
Ranger(RA) - Range class
Force(FO) - Magic class

Human
Newman (Pointy ears)
Cast (Robot)

HUmar: A human hunter, can use some spells. Balanced stats, no overall strengths or weaknesses.
HUnewearl: A newman hunter, most powerful magic outside of forces. Relatively poor HP for a hunter, makes up for it with very high evasion.
HUcast: An android hunter, highest attack power in game. Very high defense and HP. Cannot cast spells.
HUcaseal: An android hunter, has very high evasion and good accuracy. Cannot cast spells.

RAmar: A human ranger, has the highest accuracy in the game. Can use some spells.
RAmarl: A human ranger, most powerful magic of Ranger class.
RAcast: An android ranger, has the highest attack power out of the ranger class. Cannot cast spells.
RAcaseal: An android ranger, has the highest defense in the game. Cannot cast spells.

FOmar: A human force. Highest attack and high evasion among forces. Low accuracy and HP. Good melee force.
FOmarl: A human force, highest defense and high attack among forces. Lower mana but high HP. Excels in support magic. Good support or melee force.
FOnewm: A newman force, strong area of effect attack magic but poor support. High mana. Low defense and HP. Best as a "nuking" class.
FOnewearl: A newman force, highest damage potential and good support among forces. Strongest magic and most mana. Lowest physical attack and low defense, but very high evasion. Good for both "nuking" and support.
