So I was hanging out in some Japanese sites, then I came across this. Sales data for the recent Rockman games in Japan!

http://www.japan-gamecharts.com/

It's pretty reliable since all the numbers come from the Japanese Famitsu publication:

So for Rockman, these numbers count for total sales the each game

GAMECUBE:
Mega Man Network Transmission
ロックマンエグゼ トランスミッション
79,360 Units

Mega Man X: Command Mission
ロックマンX コマンドミッション
18,599 Units

ロックマンエグゼ4 トーナメントブルームーン / レッドサン
928,850 Units

Mega Man Battle Network 6 Cybeast Falzar / Cybeast Gregar
ロックマン エグゼ6 電脳獣グレイガ / 電脳獣ファルザー

106,526 Units

Mega Man ZX
ロックマン ゼクス
94,341 Units

Mega Man ZX Advent
ロックマン ゼクス アドベント
63,977 Units

PSP?

Irregular Hunter X
ROCKMAN ROCKMAN
Rockman DASH
Rockman DASH 2

They didn't make it to the top 236, which are apparently those that sold over 20,000 units...  :(

PS2

Rockman X7
Rockman X8
Rockman X: Command Mission
Rockman Power Battles/Fighters Disc

Not on the list either. They apparently didn't sell over 200,000 units...

PlayStation

Mega Man X5
ロックマンX5
201,153 Units

Rockman Battle & Chase
Rockman DASH
Rockman DASH 2
Rockman 8
Rockman X3
Rockman X4

Nothing for these titles. Didn't cross the 200,000 mark.

------------
That is all.

With numbers like these I'm nut surprised Capcom milks the MMBN/MMSF series.

And what the hell:

ロックマンX コマンドミッション

That's a hard kick to the groin.

Huh, I didn't know BN4 sold that well. Meanwhile, CM's sales make me depressed. ;O; The PSP/PS2 sales sound pretty lame too.

What? WHAT?! EXE4 was the peak of the series and the ZX series sold like [parasitic bomb]?

Good god, Japan. When did you stop having taste?

Why are EXE4's and EXE6's dual editions lumped together, while EXE3's and EXE5's are separated?

That's messed up. That's really messed up. CM is an extremely fun RPG and better than any main FF that's been put out for a while.

Look at the lists.

The lowest selling games on each list where either 20,000 and 200,000. I separated those numbers on purpose.

Besides the whole Japan-lacking-taste thing, why the hell is X5 the best-selling PS1 game?

I also don't see Z4 on the list.

X vs Zero, possibly.

Z series getting progressively worse sales makes me want to shake some sense into someone.

It looks like there could be a, "been there, done that" aspect to it, which only hurts MegaMan because of how similar a lot of it's games are to each other. SF, for example, dropped with each game, and last I heard 3 did poorly in Japan.

This doesn't excuse BN4 being high, though.

Maybe they expected great things after X 4 and Battle Network 3 and didn't wait for reviews?

Uhh... you do realize it's basically FFX with Rockman slapped onto it, right? >_>'

PS1 titles:
I'd wager this list isn't absolutely untouchable and incomplete at the moment or what have you before taking that for face value. They still have some updates going there, so who knows.

Regardless, that Command Mission bombed in Japan is a well documented fact ever since the game's release.

Guys, please let me know when did Gwen Stacy getting retroactively impregnated with Goblin Twins solve any contradiction whatsoever and didn't create a whole set of new ones. TTFN

With bland textures, lack of diverse enemy's, lack of challenge, stiff character models, no romance, acceptable yet minimal character development, sure. One thing disliked about Command mission was once  you hit level 40, you. are. GOD!

I swear, I'm gonna remove what little japanese DNA that's in me just because of that.

Well, command mission was a decent MMX-style clone of FFX; Not to mention that neat little thing you get when you have command mission save data on your card...

Let's see how you do against KUNG-FU CUTMAN!

no romance
Well, there was that part where Axl thought Marino had the hots for him.  Turns out she was contemplating stealing his Copy Chip...

So far as visuals go, I think that XCM, even if not revolutionary, was the definite best-looking 3D MegaMan game.

Such a shame that Rockman Rocman (Powered Up) and Command Mission did so poorly.   I would like to see more from both.

Looks like Capcom sees the Rockman franchise being fueled by children due to the EXE/Ryuusei sales.  HRRRRMMMMMM.......

Japan... Although I love you for many things, but isn´t it absurd that the alternate series from the original is more loved?
People, what are the sales in the USA? I know they are bigger, but I want the numbers.
