This live-action special-effects series is the latest reincarnation of Shotaro Ishinomori's Kamen Rider action manga about super-powered heroes who protect humanity. The series originated as Kamen Rider Ryuki, which ran in Japan from 2002 to 2003. The regular series of the English-language version, which is being refilmed and produced in the United States, launched on January 3 of this year.

D3Publisher just released a Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight video game for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS consoles on November 17.

The only other U.S. adaptation of the Kamen Rider series was Saban's Masked Rider, which was loosely based on the Kamen Rider BLACK RX series. It aired in 1995 but was also canceled after only one season.

Well, that was disappointing. Can't believe that 4Kids have to cancelled the show. This is also the reason why I hate 4Kids because they kept canceling the good shows (yet the dubbing sucks), including Tokyo Mew Mew (or Mew Mew Power) OR leaving the shows on-hold. Way to go, 4Kids, you just lost your another series. -AC

Tch! This goes FAR beyond Kamen Rider. It's just the last straw on the camel's back. English dubbing of Japanese shows in general must be stopped, or, at least, changed for the better. And the only people with the power to do so are the fans who are crazy enough to declare and wage war on the various companies that dub anime.

Yeah, if you got a problem with ALL dubbing, you got a problem with Zero himself. He'll [tornado fang] you up, I guarantee it.

Well, it's not game dubbing I have a problem with (well, the games that sound like nobody was even trying I dislike). My main problem is with the people that write the translated script, and periodically with the directing, specifically when they put unnecesary(sp?) flashbacks in for viewers who are too stupid to keep up with what's going on without flashbacks. The biggest examply of this? The Funimation dub of Dragonball GT, where they took the entire first half of the series and turned it into "Lost Episodes" so they could skip to Beibi(sp?).

That was only the first run, wasn't it? And next time, be specific in the beginning. Because your first post sounded like you were on a crusade to stop every dubbing company, guilty or innocent.

Actually, I have no problem with Zero's current voice actor. He made Zero's voice way too sexy. <3
