New EXE Game To Be A Remake Confirmed?

In the recent Volume 31 of the GT Newsletter, they had a Q&A with Star Force 3 series producer Takeshi Horinouchi. Now, I know what you're thinking; "It's Star Force. Why should we care?". Well, maybe this quote will get your attention:

There you have it. The new EXE game titled "Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star" is most likely a remake of the first EXE game "Battle Network Rockman EXE"

I'm hoping he just meant that he was working on a BN game similar to BN1; otherwise, I can't see the point of the "Operate Shooting Star" subtitle. (Also, I'm a sucker for crossovers and I'd hate to see this one wasted.)

Whoo, the first one was kinda tedious! And bland! But I really don't see them messing it up; after all, that was their first foray into the MMBN/MMSF territory. I'm sure even the gameplay would be updated.

Yeah, I'll still probably buy it anyway, just to support a possible step in the right direction.

Although if I read beforehand that there's something seriously wrong with the mechanics, I'm not.

I just Elecman´s stage to be remade and I will be happy....

what? I liked BN 1...it had all the MM1 bosses (except cutman) and It also had MagicMan....To fight him again would be a dream

There was nothing wrong with EXE1 besides the generic Net Areas. Hell, you didn't even have to use SubChips and you could fill your folder with 10 Paladin Swords

Why does Capcom always remake the first title of one of their franchises?

Why not remake MM2/MM3, MMX2/MMX3, MMBN2/MMBN3?

Because the first title is the oldest. Also, it helps to restart the plot at the start instead of the middle.

I hope this is a bad translation of the answer, the only remake that Rockman need right now is one for the first Dash in order to get new fans on board.

Eh... I don't know if that's the best of ideas, considering how much complaining I hear about the battle system in Ryuusei. Even though I don't even like the EXE series personally, it just sounds like a mess-up waiting to happen to me.

No, seriously, Mega Man games are legacy. It's just not a series that appeals to the newer generation. And any attempt to make a series that would appeal to them would only wind up being a disaster and a mockery of the license compared to the settings of the classic entries (i.e. compare the badassery of MMX1 or the attitude of the Classic Mega Man series to the performance and setting of Starforce).
