Quote from: open theme [TORNADO FANG] YOU on January 21, 2016, 06:27:36 AMAll in all I'm still hooked. Probably thinking about watching Arise after this.

Arise is pretty damn good, but the fact that they're OVAs means they suffer a bit as they don't have the depth that SAC has. Some of the plotlines can feel a little convoluted or rushed as a result. I'd still recommend it, though.  :)

Y'know, I should rewatch SAC too, once I'm finished with Burst Angel.

Sekkou Boys

Not sure what I just watched

Amatiramisu

Dr. Wily II

Is that a good wow, a bad wow, a i-have-seen-the-light wow, or a meduka-gurl-iz-suffering wow?

I'm watching you all. Always watching.

Amatiramisu

A good wow. Easily one of the best anime I've watched.

Strider Xhaiden

Just started Box 1 of Nisekoi. I'm a huge fan of the manga, and so far I'm impressed with the adaptation. After I'm done, I've got Gatchman Crowds and Coppelion to get through. Along with about 15 other series....

So, umm... Perfect Blue

Damn, my head hurts. It's an absolute masterpiece, yes, but... wow.

Strider Xhaiden

I remember reading somewhere that it's based on a novel. Probably not gonna be tracking that one down.

Mr. Haxwell

Himouto! Umaru-chan.

So many references to reality's gaming world.
[spoiler]Gotta love that Gapcom.[/spoiler]

Fear me.

The Tatami Galaxy

Possibly the closest thing to narrative perfection I've seen in animation.

good stuff

so lets recap the [parasitic bomb] i've either watched or started watching in the last few months.

I watched the first Berzerk film, lots of 3DCG but it kinda works?

I watched Overlord, kinda neat i guess but what was the point of having all those characters if half of em made like one appearance ever. I mean you go through the trouble of having a character who's explicitly a trap but never utilize them? also there was an edgy [sonic slicer] with gold armor, blonde hair and red eyes and watching her die was the single most satisfying thing in that series. Other than that, really went for the MMO kinda setting a dark ages time period with an adventurer's guild with a bar and missions and "You gotta be this rank to do this 'find five bear asses' mission" bullshit that's getting so overdone.

I started Konosuba but immediately dropped it after one episode after it starting to look interesting then pissing away all of its goodwill on a [tornado fang]ing trite MMO-MidEvil setting with a [tornado fang]ing adventurer's guild. And the OP(?) at the end of the first episode (since anime tends to do that recently, kinda annoying to be honest but i guess they have to sucker some fools into thinking its NOT a generic sword/sorcery MMO anime) also had generic color coded mage and cleric and [parasitic bomb] so [tornado fang] that. My friend let slip that Danmachi was also a series in that vein so i'm not even gonna dignify that with a watch at all (And I actually wanted to watch Danmachi too, shame)

I finally finished Dragonball Z, now I get to rewatch it and Dragonball AND all the movies in Japanese, plus the [parasitic bomb] that's only in japanese that i skipped the first time around. Then I can maybe watch Super, or maybe i'll get really really drunk and stagger my way through the fever dream known as GT.

So yeah anime's kinda drying up for me.

Phi

Maybe because you're watching average to mediocre anime

I mean, the DBZ movies and Super? Really?

Police Girl

nah, i just don't get into it as much as I used to. either nothing grabs me that much or I watch something with my friend and it falls completely flat. Like I watched One Punch Man a while back and that was a lot of fun, meanwhile I watched like two or three episodes of Watamote and I just couldn't [tornado fang]ing stand it. Stuff like that is why i'm falling into the mindset of just rewatching the stuff I like instead of really going anywhere new. Also I make it a personal point to not watch series as they're airing unless its something like One Piece where I'll either never catch up or it'll finish by the time i get anywhere close to where its currently at (And even with One Piece i'm highly considering switching to the Manga after the timeskip)

and hey while dbz's movies aren't very good i certainly had fun watching them. besides i hear super's really improving after the movie recaps ended.

I don't know even Goku Time had it's memorable moments, always liked this short but sweet little duel.

Youtube button doesn't work, there's a link to a thread for embedding videos in the box of links that contains the rules and intro thread at the top of the forum.

Goku Time...?

Police Girl

Honestly my only real issue with GT would be having to bellyache my way through the godawful Baby [parasitic bomb]. I hate "evil possession" arcs possibly even more than I hate hamfisted rescue arcs.
