Does anyone else hear that all the time in TV shows, or is it just me?

No, it's not just you and it's been happening for years.

*Insert Mario collected coin, Bowser's roar from Mario Kart 64 randomly placed wakka wakkas, the Windows 95 Start menu jingle, and a few others here*

I'm beginning to think that there's a big vat of sound effects that people just reach into when they need generic soldier death #43 or the like now that I think about it. XD

Actually, half those Doom Sound Effects are almost in everything. EVEN THE CHAINSAW SE.

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

I'm almost positive they have this huge collection of sounds they just reuse as they please. I can't count how many times I've heard some sounds in many different places.

More commonly known as public soundbanks. Many sounds heard in videogames, especially old ones, aren't original nor made by the devs.

I notice the same thing with the some SFXs from GoldenEye. >_>
