I must admit that this color is much easier for the eyes. The background still looks striking, though. owo

The RM set doesn't even have a Cyber Man. ::) Here's the full list, as it stands:

Pyro Man
Pulse Woman
Velocity Man
Shark Man
Lunar Man
Typhoon Man
Leach Man
Copy Man
i am guess ing that stage is Velocity Man
then?

Into Darkness, into the Abyss. Where only anathema exists.

There are not many grid bg's I though I could make one for a change and yea that bg color. I will change it.

This one surely looks better, but you're best off using the zig zag effect in the middle to create a more elaborate pattern, as well as using it at the top and bottom to break up the squareness of the whole shape. Remember, at some point the stage itself will have raised floors and even move vertically; you'd need to move the pattern accordingly.

@Zan: I know. But the stage design is not fully developed yet. So take a look at the newest one.

While I do prefer the zig-zag pattern, this does look striking. owob

Since there isn't much interest being shown towards this project at the moment, I think that you need to make a website for MM:R. After all, how can you try out a MM fan game, when you never even heard of it?

Here is my new Sharkman stage design (Unfinished)

Oh and Gatuca, you asked why old tiles werent 8-bit and that they fit in.

Old one is on the left, new one is on the right.
A stage in NES Megaman could only have 4 BG palettes and 4 colors. max for each palette.
Left one has more than 4. While right one just have 4 and can be inserted into a NES game without a problem.
Not only that. Old ones used a non-NES palette. Mine uses the NES palette that emulators use.
Same for that sand tiles too.

EDIT for KudosForce
This is still in alpha stage and shouldnt be promoted everywhere. Once I get to have alot progress in my hands, I will stop showing stuff to you guys and go make it myself without showing any new content and make some videos and artwork to promote it and then complete it for its release once I get enough number of people who want to play it. (Like on youtube and other websites like 2chan)

This looks nice, as usual. It's hard to believe that the sand/ground is in 8-bit. :O

Well, that sounds reasonable enough to me. One wouldn't want all sorts of "impatient" people pressuring you on finishing the game. X(

Good call on eventually promoting it on Japanese websites, though. Who better than to judge a MM fan game's quality, than the Japanese fanbase?

For the art, make sure to ask CentaurDuckie, alright? ;)

At any rate, good luck.

@Zan: I know. But the stage design is not fully developed yet. So take a look at the newest one.

It seem like the pillars attaching to the ground are a bit too high up; there's a lot of black in between them and the floor. Not to mention, the green shading on the ceiling is reversed; it looks like a floor...

Also, a big issue with this background thus far is that it's always a big wall behind the player. As you'd through the stage, you'd need to break away from this, so build in a few ways for the wall to transition into new types of background. Likewise, make some floor tiles that allow different heights.

Mine uses the NES palette that emulators use.

The NES palette used by emulators is not equivalent to the actual TV output of the NES. MM9 is actually much closer to that.

Same for that sand tiles too.

Looked more like lava to me, but that's probably because there's no real browns for you to use. It's much better on the incline in the newer screen, but the red details on the flat floor that are so close to the surface still give that illusion of lava.

It can be good if you can show an example. I dont think I really understood what you meant.

You need to make tiles for the possibility of this:

Velocity Man.

I mean, the trucks are a dead give-away, rather. ;)

Nonetheless, it looks very spiffy (even though a black background is used). owob

Happy New Year to you, as well. :D

And that is a very well done moon.

Indeed it is. In fact, I don't remember seeing a moon with this level of detail, on the NES.

The clouds also look good.

IMO, you need to integrate the moon with the clouds.

I though that too but I want moon to be seen fully.

Perhaps making the clouds scroll in-game would be a good compromise?
