Even so, now you know XD

Knowing something and actually doing it are two completely different things!  LoL, for example, I know how to do certain combos and air combos.  However, me pulling them off are something entirely different.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

That's funny, I'm the same way.

Alex's LVL3 is so powerful, plus all you really have to do is wait till the opponent switches.  My friend was explaining to me how characters like Alex, Hugo, and Zangief are the best characters to master in a fighting game, because once you learn one of them it's extremely easy to pick up on the other.  Also, learning how to use them also means predicting how other people use their characters and such.

Funny, cause I never really took a liking to Zangief. Or Potemkin. But I'm a big fan of Alex, Hugo, and to a lesser extent Tager. Once I learn how to properly buffer 360s and 720s, I'm set with them.

Well, you shouldn't rely on that though, no decent player will just switch at a random moment instead of with a VAR or VHC, much less on an Alex with 3 levels.

You'd be shocked at how many people switch blindly!  You can almost read certain players like a book; their health gets low, they switch, you block, they eat a charge shot...

That'd be me as well.  I don't think I've ever once switched in mid-air.

Lag also can screw up changing. I don't how many times I have done a counter in a laggy match just to have my team mate come out and attack.

Ah yes, my Partner button hates me online.  Either my attempt at a VHC fails completely or by the time I get it right I've completely telegraphed my move (BLOCK).  And very frequently I try to switch and end up with just an assist.

I honestly think the switching mechanic used in this game is just terrible. Seriously, back and Partner? Why couldn't that be the command to send your partner out to attack? I mean, it's not a huge problem, but this game has a terrible 'charge' system and there have been quite a few times where I've sent my partner out to attack when i meant to switch.

Is it wrong that I'm really starting to like Tekkaman Blade?

I just had a "Master" rage-quit on me 'cause I was somehow beating him with T.B and V. Joe.

Ah, fun times. :D

Also, I have a newfound and INTENSE hatred of Ryu. Quite possibly the blandest character in fighting game history.

^Tekkaman Blade is a great character to use, and it sucks that he'll probably be an overused character within the next 5~6 months. A nifty little projectile that can teleport him across the screen, a rush attack that can go great into an air combo, and (if you've got the level) can go right into his Lv. 3 Super from the air. You do NOT want to get cornered by this guy. There isn't any real downside since he can even counter everyone's uppercuts thanks to his spear being longer than his hitbox (some guy online tried to do a Shoryuken and went right into my down+H attack instead).

There are some good Ryu users out there, but there's so many clones of him in the game that you're better off picking another character.  He isn't bland, just copied to hell and back in every other fighting game (Morrigan is more or less a direct clone with only one real move that's different, and that's her Valkyrie Turn).

I personally believe that Trigger is the hardest character in the game to use, but boy does it pay off when you get him down pat!

Yeah, that was always my belief as well.  Although you seem to be pretty damn good with him already.

....LoL, and TATSUNICAL?

I'm good, but I'm not THAT good.  Still, there's a guilty pleasure in knowing that I can make people ragequit with him.  XD

Combos out of pretty much everything, great use in DHC's, aimable, annoys giants, gives the Bonnes a run for their money; what's not to love?

I must admit, before I started to learn (was forced) to play defensively, my battle strategy was little more than "KY SMASH GO BOOM!"

I'm probably late on this one, but I just realized that Gold Lightan was practically a boss in the first Megaman Legends game.  Similar names, fighting styles, and designs.  Heck, Friender's in the same game by extension (Karumuna Bash was based off of Hot Dog, who was based off of Friender).
