Brilliant Dr. Thomas Light created a robot named Rock to run his high-class restaurant. Rock nearly set the place on fire, causing Light's project to be axed by it's snooty French sponsor:
Rock, having a strong sense that he needed to make money to pay back Dr. Light, volunteered to become a cash cow for Capcom. "GO MAKE ME MONEY!" exclaims Light in the bottom left panel:
Rockman goes to fight Dr. Light's most poorly constructed and weakest Robot Master, Cutman. Cutman's parts, as we all later learned, were reused to make the spring-loaded fake Wily bot:
Rockman continues his murderous rampage by killing an innocent Electric-type Poke Man. Look at that evil sneer. That man is a killer:
As he searches for Sarah Palin, Rockman encounters a Native Alaskan. This chilly man is amazed he can shoot icicles from his mouth. "OMG, LOOK AT THAT THING!":
Rockman kills the Eskimo. Children rejoice at the sight of a smoldering, motionless corpse. Back at home, Dr. Light is glad to see his robo-son. But it's time for a serious lecture about all the death he's causing:
Meanwhile, an old man is filming an action movie. One of the film's extras is also killed by gunfire.
While at Wily Castle, Rockman has figured out the Black and White Devil's weakness. For itchy, red eyes, the solution is clear. Use Clear Eyes. But it does not work for the monster. It actually stings a lot, forcing him to cover his eye. Obviously, Rockman never could beat the Devil after this point, because he couldn't do anything to that eye anymore:
It's a super blimp!:
After talking things out with Wily, Rock realizes he's not a bad guy. So he just walks away and let's Wily do as he pleases. Now that this story is over and there is no chance for a sequel of any kind, Rock tosses his helmet away and rushes back to see if his chef's hat hasn't totally been burned to a crisp yet:
