It's Trigger, as both Dash and X4 came out around the tail end of '97, which is when the issue was from. And both were covered in the mag, as long as my memory serves correctly. (Still haven't dug it out of a buried box somewhere.) That's why they shared the cover.

I hate having to make another request, but...I seriously doubt that it can be answered anyway. I've been searching for 1.) Rockman Megamix (all of it, preferably in a .ZIP/.RAR file...I did find one, but the site required me to sign up. Damnations!), and 2.) old magazine previews of the NES Megaman games. I seriously doubt anyone has those, but it's worth a try...maybe not.

In the meantime, here's this advert for the original Megaman.

She did a retelling of the Z2 final battle/ending in doujin form as well, and was working on a pre-X1 story way before MHX. I'd have linked to just the site, since most of the fanartists hate that their work is so much as mirrored (don't ask me) but at a forum I hang at people had provided the imageshack links already (and it's how I found this out), so two wrongs make a right? I guess!

Zero's nightmare scene is almost the same as one I scripted way back in '03. Down to him activating the beam saber. I'll have to see if it's gonna to have the same use. >_>

There's a friend of mine who knows Japanese. I'm currently helping him with Saint Seiya scanlations, so in return for those he was going to help me translating something, so to say.

But if nothing else gives in this front (because there's a third person that determines whether he'll be able to do his thing or not), I'll ask him to give these pages a shot. I can't just up and tell him "LOL TRANSLATE YET ANOTHER THING" out of the blue. >.>

'tis funny. I was thinking to the back of my head these days that they should've definitely have gotten Furuya to dub X in the japanese games. Itou did great, they shouldn't have switched him in the first place and then switching to Morikubo and THEN TO SAKURAI.

Not if you break it down into smaller subtitles for "chapters" within one of the games. Like, say, "Chapter 1: A story of Red Destruction", "Chapter 2: God of Legend", "Chapter 3: Everything starts from Zero again".

the RMZ one makes me think of the Jap commercial for the first game, also, lol @ X's expression on rush bike. IF X had Rush around, he probably wouldnt be so mopey. hed SOOO love rush.
also, that one with Casshern and X is gold. yeah, Cassherns VA could tottaly pull off X. Casshern in Sins has a similar attitude as X towards the [parasitic bomb] he does.
