Nostalgia via Kotaku

After reading about this on Kotaku, even though I'm not that big into RPG's, this game has very much sparked an interest.  Maybe it's just my love of Steampunk, who knows.  Either way, color me curious.

As if they couldn't make their marketing strategy for this game any more blatant!

Works for me! Especially after reading this:

Quote
From the creators of Dragon Quest V, Final Fantasy III and IV for the DS, Thousand Arms, Fatal Frame, and Grandia comes Nostalgia, an original steampunk role-playing game for the Nintendo DS.

And then there's this:

Quote
with art direction by Yoshiteru Tsujino (Far East of Eden), airship design by Takuhito Kusanagi (Grandia, Blue Submarine No.6, Samurai 7), and enemy design by Keita Amemiya (Iria- Zeiram the Animation, Kamen Rider),

LOOK AGAIN:

Well if there's anything Blue Submarine No. 6 did right, it was ship designs.

With a name like Nostalgia, I came to this thread expecting stuff like NES, Super Nintendo, etc.

Despite not being anything like that, I'm not disappointed.  XD

Also, it would seem that info about this has been pretty decently spread out for a while! XD

The big news is it's being localized, and for that I'm thankful.

Oh that's good news indeed! The artwork reminds me of 90's manga. It's a good thing.

I think I've figured out why the game invokes nostalgia right from the get go. The art is drawn with that "soft" style that a lot of SNES RPGs used to use for their box art and character art. I really like it though.

Seeing a steampunk zepplin and that logo was enough to grab my interest!  Steampunk RPGs are cool.  I am looking forward to this, and all the artwork it can give me.
