I think the last time I had absolutely no problem with grinding was in FFX-2. That game was anything but great. But it had a dam nenjoyable battle system, so I fought for the sake of fighting and levelled up in the meantime.

Oh oh oh oh oh, I just remembered a game in which I left the task of mindless grinding to my younger brother, because I found it (at least in the initial stages of the game) mind-bendingly boring and sleep-inducing.

SNES Super Mario RPG.

When I got to Mack the first time, I had the hardest time of my life, and I'd already noticed my bro liked to grind. So I enlisted him in the task of getting me high enough to have the Super Flame (!) BEFORE getting to Mack. I remember once I got to him like that, I'd never seen such a one-sided battle before. XD

I gather you hadn't heard of the Star trick?  SMRPG is probably the easiest game on the face of the Earth to grind, due to not having to actually battle in order to gain experience.

Even disregarding that, having Mallow Thunderbolt the never-ending Shysters to death before Mack is pretty simple.

Yeah, during that time I didn't know the Star trick, so I had to grind my way away (or my bro did).

Nowadays I just [twin slasher] whatever the hell shows in front of me. Usually, by abusing the Star trick, I'm able to get all of Mario's specials before hitting the first Belome. :P

Paper Mario is even better nbecause you don't have to grind. At all. If you need to grind there, then you suck. Big hairy bull balls.

Also:

Elaborate.

Just that -- if you can time Mallow's Thunderbolt magic correctly, you can one-hit-kill all the Shysters that come up with Mack in the boss battle. Although sometimes it's not as preferable, 'cause when he's alone Mack likes to throw the Fire Wall attack on you.

That still gives you free EXP for grinding anyway if I recall, plus it makes the battles a bit longer. I'd say weaken Mack first, then tackle his Shysters with Mallow's Thunder to get an even extra boost.

Workshop/DA/YT/Photobucket なにかんがえてるの!?
So its about ass now huh? EVEN THE ASS HAS 'EXCEEDED'!

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

Well, it's what I usually did -- clear the field with Thunderbolt, concentrate on Mack, more Shysters show up, rinse, lather, repeat.

Actually I meant the ones constantly pouring out the castle/throne room.  Before you fight Mack.

Oh.

Still doesn't take any credit from my statements though. But your way is certainly useful for grinding, seeing as (IIRC) FP get refilled after a battle.

They don't, but you can "rest" (though you may NOT sleep in the Princess's bed) for free in the Princess's room during the attack.
