The problem with Nomura is that all of his characters look the same. He's very attached to that style. And it gets worse with the years.

Same could be said for many other artists. Compare the Dragon Ball (mainly the manga) artstyle to Dragon Quest for example. Toriyama pretty much makes most of the DQ characters Goku and Bulma look-alikes.

Oh, but Toriyama has got it BADLY. =P Everyone looks EXACTLY the same, every hero is Goku, every girl is Bulma, and even his animals and beasts all look the damn same. =P

That maybe but I wouldn't have it any other way with Toriyama although Liefield is a different matter entirely. Nomura zippers and belts are starting to grow on me honestly.

There's a difference between being samey but charming, like Toriyama, and being a 90's reject that only draws overly masculine bodies, has no sense of anatomy, and still can't draw feet after all these years, like Liefeld.

I know who Gackt is. But Nomura automatically switched his style to something completely derrivative and not as original as he had before. He could have easily kept his old style.
