I can't fix it while logged into BlackXP, I have to be on Fedora to fix it.
Since it's not the hardware, it's the software not working properly.

I knew the problem was with linux, but I assumed that you had more than one computer.

Question for those who use fraps.

Is there a way to record videos longer than 30 seconds? If so, how?

Get the full version.
And if you've got the trial on your computer already, you'll need to clean a lot of registry values before installing the full version.

Rockmon : Ah no, I'm poor as [tornado fang], so only one computer, multiple partitions (That being 2.)

Another way to record the screen is to use windows media encoder. You'll have to get Vixy's help with the settings though.

I'm actually trying to find a good recorder for TF2 gameplay. I don't like the Source Recorder.

I use a full version of FRAPs (Which eats up resources like Pac-man eats dots)
And Camtasia Studio for putting it all together and making the file size reasonable.

I'm that guy that goes around recommending CamStudio, because it's the only one I managed to make it work somehow, but if the video is many minutes long it'll probably crash.

I just wanted to say that I found the problem with my Video card, I didn't install the right drivers for it, I installed the Vista drivers instead of the Xp ones, therefore it didn't, I feel like a total noob, but yeah, thanks for trying to help me and I'm sorry I made it hard because of my inexperience.

Alrighty, lets take a crack at this one.

Something's been up with Firefox lately, other than it's been one resource hungry mother. When I launch the program, after about... I guess five minutes, the loading light on my computer turns on, but the PC makes a rhythmic "krrk... krrkrrk" sound for about a minute, which then hangs the whole computer until it stops. This then happens after every 30 minutes. I've ruled out viruses and malware since I ran thorough scans with Avira, Spybot and Adaware with no returns. Furthermore, IE(7) is not affected by this so it's clearly something with Firefox. My own research says something may be up with the profile firefox uses, like it's corrupting or something, though I'm not sure here. Any thoughts?

Avira made my computer act funny during startup. I dont like it anymore. >:(
and when I used system restore, Avira was gone. which means it was the cause.

Whoa, so much [parasitic bomb] going on. Lemme address stuff in order.

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm berating you, but it's good to know that you're aware that you were the one screwing up. Installing drivers is easily the most delicate thing when handling new hardware installs, because a single screw-up with the driver installation could completely [tornado fang] your system up in terms of data loss, which is rather more expensive than one or two pieces of hardware exploding.

In the Run prompt, type firefox -profilemanager and hit Enter. Create a new profile, and try browsing for a while with a clean slate. If no problems arise, your profile is indeed screwed. Hit me back for ways to recover your bookmarks and suchlike to import them into your new profile.

Try uninstalling both, restarting, and then reinstalling. And make sure you're installing the latest versions.

Looks like it is indeed something with the profile. An hour later and it has yet to lockup the system.

In that case, you might wanna try investigating more deeply.

1. Run firefox -safe-mode, and open with the screwed profile.
2. In the dialog box, pick to Disable ALL add-on components.
3. Run the screwed profile, and enable the add-ons backwards in time one by one, i.e. enable the oldest one, try the browser.
4. If no crash happens, enable the next oldest one, restart and try the browser again.
5. Repeat step 4 ad-infinitum until the last add-on you enable crashes the system.

You can either do that, or simply load the screwed profile in Safe Mode, export your bookmarks, and import them on the new profile. I'd go with the longer solution, since it ensures your sessions and history remain safe. It's a bit more tedious, but it's worth it.
