Bandai makes excellent stands for their figures (Or so I've heard, I've yet to pick one up.)

Here is one more suited for humanoid designs.

oohh thanks.

Anyway, Tomopop intern Tyler Jones has made a nice retrospective of the previous megaman toy lines, (oddly excluding the jazzwares ones)
http://tomopop.com/post.phtml?pk=18988

an unboxing of D-Arts X,
http://tomopop.com/post.phtml?pk=19086

and now a review of him.
http://tomopop.com/tomopop-review-bandai-s-d-arts-rockman-x-19124.phtml

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

The Body on Poor Rock is from the leftovers on Blue's Tray, the original worn out one is in the background.
The Pieces in the front are the broken apart remnants of one of the Hip Joints.
The arm Snapped at the shoulder (Or rather I should say peeled apart, there was no snapping because the plastic turned soft and weak.)

The Dark Blue Plastic parts (The Forearms, etc.) are all A-OK, and the paint didn't [tornado fang] them up, the Light Blue, however, saw a nasty turn for the worse.

All of a sudden, Im starting to hear negative reviews of Koto Rock. But then again, he IS a model kit, not a figure. But a model kit built like a figure, which might be where the problem lies.

The white eyes only emphasize that your Rock has had a "game over"

Posted on: May 09, 2011, 11:33:11 PM

it's a Charagumin kit, meaning it I believe, comes in precasted colors, (for the most part- I assume it will still require some touch up to look better) and requires little fuss, being a snap together I think. (still needs glue of course)

Do want. Do very much want.

I'm incredibly surprised to see a figure from this 1996 series being released in this day and age, around 15 years later. I don't think it was any sort of huge thing or anything. But then again, Its a good series, and Im not complaining. Not like SMJ ever got too many figures to my knowledge. And the ones that DO exist seem to be somewhat obscure and gave me a bit of trouble in just finding and purchasing ONE of them.

Though... If the price tag of 10,500 yen on the only other figure they have on their English site is any indication of what it might cost...

Then my wallet might hate me.

...When Larry the reploid accountant goes maverick of his own accord, he's certainly formidable during tax season, but he isn't going to provide X the challenge needed to make him grow as a warrior and reach his potential.

Hmm, this prototype doesn't look bad so far, pray tell that this kit will be well balanced in the final product.

Veery intresting for the artist of a currently-running series to have a figure molded after himself in the form of a top. Of course, this has happened before.

Workshop/DA/YT/Photobucket なにかんがえてるの!?
So its about ass now huh? EVEN THE ASS HAS 'EXCEEDED'!

One mention of LEGENDS and everyone goes batshit.  :\

Yep, every time when someone mentions that game people get energized for an apparent reason whatsoever. It's like this everywhere else, trust me.

It got really messy to find my sprite and comic topic, so it's in my sig.

I assume so. it has like a little dust cloud at her foot. most likely to attach to a stand.

Oddly enough, if you look a said foot, it doesnt quite match up with the one on the picture. Its bent more the other way...

YAAAAAY

It caaame! :D

its actually smaller than I expected. I was expecting something the size of the Jazzwares figures. Its more along the line of the Mega Armor model kits. (bit taller though)

I know right? X is positively tiny! >O Esp when you put him next to Kotobukiya Rock and it's like omg something is wrong.

I fixed that though.

I wanna compare him to a figma now but I don't have one handy :V

New color previews of the Kotobukiya Zero.

More images here

Despite having trouble building my Kotobukiya Rockman (he looks really banged up compared to many pics of him out there), I still thought it was worth the money. At least he looks accurate compared to the Jazzware Mega Man action figure. I'm so buying this Kotobukiya Zero when he comes out.

Ah, so its Z4 Zero. Guess that means we aren't getting the Triple, Chain, or Recoil rod.

Oh well. Looks [tornado fang]ing great, though chances are the mass production will have lighter colors (and obviously less detailing, but thats what a small sharpie is for.)

EDIT: Oh damnit. Looks like I'm going to have to pass this one up...

Ah well, I can get it in November.

To be as tall as a 10 year old shotabot/lolibot or for him to look cute?

Well no, he's 2cm taller actually. But proportionately he looks it >_>a

EDIT: Cynicism aside for a second, he could look mature in relation to the previous model kits, but I haven't seen them compared side by side yet so...

He's guaranteed to look adorable, given the nature of Toru Nakayama's 'work'.

I guess all I can really say is it isn't exactly what I'd expect out of a $4.4M game

It doesn't even have mouth animations

I love the metallic shine on this one.

It's supposed to be available for sale at Comic Con as an exclusive. Crossing my fingers that i can go this time around.

Well they finally showed the colored version of the Charagumin Lime, and it looks pretty top notch, (except for those tan-browns)

Its still like $156 though.

theres a special edition, but its pretty much just the same sans the headgear.

I wonder if they payed extra attention to the dust clouds, I'd hate to imagine them breaking off considering there might be a few weak points in this figure in the terms of handling. The fig will BETTER be worth it.

pretty sure it will be worth it- the fact that the coloring job alone is pretty good, (the eyes look great too) and the figure looks ok in terms of character design. plus it does have interchangeable parts.

though Im hesitant to ever buy something o THAT price. 100$ i could consider. anything above like, 110 though...
