She's still pretty good overall, actually. Just a lot of her set ups for karakusa, etc, have changed from third strike.

Agreed. Makoto still seems to be a really powerful character in the right hands. Now Dudley, on the other hand, got nerfed pretty bad. If you miss with him, you really get punished.

Hey you weren't that bad. You actually understand the concept of the game now and did catch me with el fuerte's ultra.

Like I've said many times before...

Understanding the concept of the game and me actually getting the concept to work are two entirely different things.

Been loving Makoto's Ultra 2. I'm not entirely sure how to combo into it yet(Or if you can, other than focus crumple), but I've been pretty good about catching people in the recovery of whiffed moves.
I've especially been liking how most of the time it'll still combo if you catch them in the air with it, which didn't happen in Third Strike, which means even if they aren't hit on the ground I can follow up with axe kick and dash punch, which'll knock them down and set them up for some mindgames.

...what?

Makoto is still the powerhouse as she was in 3rd Strike.  Just in SSF4's mechanics.

my brother isn't happy w/ Ibuki in SSF4 though, but I guess he just expected everything 3rd Strike Ibuki to be in 4 so...

everyone else, what do you think of SSF4 Ibuki?

I don't have a problem with her. Sure her neck snap is a half circle now, and she no longer has my preferred choice of super art, but she still feels much like she used to.

Lol, Makoto is so nerfed. XD
Makoto's at a disadvantage against any fireball characters. Since she doesn't have focus armor on any of her EX moves, it makes it even harder for her to get in. Seems to me that she relies on a lot of mindgames and punishment to be effective.

Also that SF short film things looks awesome. Why can't the big films ever get it right like this?

Hey guys, I just bought this game and I think I'm going to main Dan.  What should I expect?

Also why isn't Karin in this?

Well, I'm trying to main him too.  He seems like a weaker Ken/Ryu for the most part.

I've gotten a Mayflash arcade stick. Might have been silly to expect an instant improvement, but the transition is a bit more difficult than I expected, especially since I've done decently well in actual arcades in the past (scant though they may be around here).
If anyone wants to play me and my crappy arcade-stick playing, my PSN ID is still RocketFetus. Feel free to send me an invite cause unless I'm playing someone else I'll jump right in.

I'm usually always signed on, but today I won't be around until like 10:30 EST. Go ahead and add me whenever you want and I'll accept it when I can. We'll play whenever we're both on.

Can anyone here do double half circle with a controller?

I like playing as Ibuki but I can't do any of her ultras.  Maybe it fires off every 1 out of 10 tries.  Am I [tornado fang]'d?

Yeah, it's not very difficult if you do it right.
The half circle motion in SF4 has pretty heavy input leniency. Basically, to do a half circle motion, you really only have to hit three points. Back, Down, and forward. And that can be any version of back, down, or forward.
What this means is you could pull off a half circle motion by pressing Up-Back, Down, down-forward. Or Down-back, down, forward. You can literally cut 90 degrees off the motion by going from down-back to down, then down-forward. That's all you really have to hit.
So you could pull off a double half circle forward and only actually hit six points on the joystick. This basically turns it into a slightly rotated double qcf.

...what?

I've gotten a Mayflash arcade stick...
I'm curious as to why a Mayflash? Or more importantly, what's under the box? =)

Sub/PB- Do you really want to be competitive with Dan?
Despite having good combo damage and a good reversal, he lacks some tools to win for most matches but it's still possible to win, just that you will need execution and patience to win.

Anyone that wants to level up, I'll be tonight.(PSN) It's been a while but I got my mod complete( I'll post pics later) and  I'm finally feeling good so it's a go.

I'm actually working on Ibuki and Cody.

That sounds easy, but I always manage to dick it up somehow.  Like all of Ibuki's specials I can barely pull off, except that one in the air.

Possibly the new meaning of "Cut me timbers"?

Been playing SSFIV fairly lot as of late. I'm not particurally good, but managing. Trying to learn Makoto and Hakan mainly, though I'm often playing as Ken and Chun-Li. I also happened to buy a pre-modded Mad Catz's SFIV arcade stick (the stick and buttons have been switched with Sanwa's parts) for a fairly nice price.
