I used to worry that a burglar would crash through my bedroom window, every night I went to bed. Every. Night.

I think that fear lasted from when I was 5-6 years old.

Jesus Christ, come to think of it, I was a pretty paranoid child. Not to an extreme, thankfully, but still easily scared by some stuff.

It wasn't until I started playing games a lot more regularly that the dreams began to change from getting mauled by a mountain lion to me beating the [parasitic bomb] out of a mountain lion when it tried to eat me.

Those were much more preferable.

OH [parasitic bomb] IM USING LINK AND I ACCIDENTALLY FINAL SMASHED A CUCCO OH GOD HELP
Just enjoy yourself, don't complain about everything

I'm still kinda scared of the dark, even in my own house.
It feels bad, man.

I sleep with a nightlight so I can see where I'm going if I have to go to the bathroom since my room can sometimes have hazards.

Current playthrough: Chrono Trigger and God Eater Ressurection

I never would have expected that from you, of all people. Sorry to hear that.

Oddly, the dark never really frightened me. Funny how all these other things effected me more than darkness is eternal.

It's worse than you think.
I rarely go out when it's dark, because I'm so scared. Doesn't matter if there's crapload of people around or that there are streetlights.

If I stand (not sit) too long in the darkness, I begin to get paranoid. However, if I'm laying on my bed, or sitting on it... the problem almost does not exist.

If I've read/seen something even mildly scary, I will [tornado fang]ing try to lit the lights in whatever room I'm trying to go to immediately. Otherwise I begin to lose my sanity, a'la Amnesia (well not exactly, but you get my point).

In other words:

Yes, people of RPM. Tron is in fact a total wuss who's afraid of the DARKNESS like a little baby.

Nyctophobia is a very justified fear.

I totally read that as NYCtophobia, as in a fear of NYC

I wouldn't be suprised if a fear of NYC is actually a thing.

Neither would I, but it probably has more to do with a fear of big cities and being around a fuckton of people.

So do I.  They're delicious.  Ever try them lightly browned in olive oil?

Unfortunately, never did. Sounds easy enough to do, so I'll try that.

My sister-in-law cooked them that way once.  I think all she did was douse them in olive oil, put them on a pan, and bake them.  I was there when they were in the oven (missed the first step), and they were baked until they browned.  It gave the outside a bit of a crisp, while the rest was juicy.

Broccoli is delicious.  I like it fresh, steamed, baked, fried, pickled, mixed with a soup of Velveeta...

And recently I was stopped by the cops while taking a walk at night.  Nothing really happened, but I was pretty much told to go home. :P
