I never said I didn't like Destiny, I said it was overrated. The remake I didn't get to play long enough to get a valid impression from, but 1&2 didn't impress me much. It does suck that we didn't get a good portion of the "Tales of" games translated though.

Wow, it's kind of funny that you think that, around where I live no one ever praises Tales of Destiny at all. People seem to like Symphonia A LOT over here, a game which I think is overrated (Still excellent game though). The ToD remake is really good and the ALMBS is probably my favorite take on the battle system to date.

If you read back a bit in this very thread, you'll see what I mean. The ones that go nuts over Symphonia tend to not have played any other Tales games, which is somewhat understandable. One thing I will give Symphonia is that it's localization was excellent, and certainly set the bar for quality localizations on Tales games. I personally am rather unable to go back and replay it though. I blame this on the faux-3D battlefields, where your party members get in your way more often than not.

I know exactly what you mean, the new Megaten fans are the same way. They only play the newer games (Persona 3, Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga) and they show complete ignorance when it comes to the older games. Also I read back and understand what you said about the Destiny games, I kind've agree a little if anything (still my favorite though ^.^). ToD DC is a really good remake, give a try whenever possible.

I played Symphonia, then went on to Phantasia.

Won't play any more Tales of games for a while, though, because they seem to be too focused on items, sidequests, and money rather than pacing and combat.
