I really love this show, its a perfect companion to the previous animated series. The only problem is that it's never on. Other than that, it doesn't really hold back when it comes to content, people get stabbed, shot, etc. It would be pretty boring otherwise, but they've really done a good job making it faithful.

I'm sure everyone else has heard about the live action series that's set to take place between episodes III and IV?

I've heard of it, there's a topic on TheForce.Net concerning it (which I'm currently hunting down), though near as I can tell... there hasn't been much said about it.  There's been quite a bit of discussion regarding it, but seeing as how nothing concerning the live action series has popped up for discussion on Wookieepedia, then Lucas has been either keeping a really tight lid on it, or it's simply fallen by the wayside in favor of the current TCW work and the Star Wars: Detours comedy show planned by Seth Green.

Concerning the live action series, I have mixed feelings.  I'd like to think that it would perhaps integrate some of the more minor characters from ESB, but I have a feeling that any bounty hunters it focuses on will prolly be just Fett.

Pretty much all that's known is the timeframe. Although, like you said, Boba Fett will probably be a character, since the kid who played him in Attack of the Clones is in talks of returning. There's really not many important events to cover, but if it's anything like the Clone Wars, I'd be pleased. The budget may be restricting for a TV series, but I wouldn't doubt LucasFilm.

Well, since Lucas is utterly in love with CG, if he can do CG effects for cheaper than actually building a set, he'll have everyone act in front of a blue screen, with stand-ins in blue unitards, while he sips his coffee and shouts "Faster, more intense!"

Well, I'm already prepared for the inevitable CGI use (abuse?). As long as it looks good, I'm down, but it's too early to judge.

So I watched the fourth episode of series four (I skipped two and three because the first one with the water planet was horrible, to me at least) and... [tornado fang]ing GUNGANS! Jesus Christ, and the preview even had Dooku and Anakin fight it out.
Though the Gungan general was pretty awesome and bro, but I laughed when
[spoiler]THE GUNGANS [tornado fang]ing IMPALE GRIEVOUS AND TAKE HIM AS A PRISONER! It's right after he said "Hurr hurr hurr You must be joking?!" when they wanted to fight him. Even Jar-Jar got a stab at him. Shame that the Gungun general kinda sorta sacrificed himself for that to work. : <
[/spoiler]

Last Friday's episode made me cringe.

[spoiler] I can only imagine what canon was [tornado fang]'d up when Roos Tarpals bit it.  His article isn't on my watch list, but I pity the editors who are working on him.

Though, after a quick check, it seems Tarpals's death didn't conflict with anything, as he doesn't have the TCW retcon tag on his article. [/spoiler]

It's gotten to the point that I just watch TCW because I feel obligated.  Before, I was enjoying it.  Then, every other episode was canon-[twin slasher].

So after seeing the extended trailer for season 5 (Yes. I know it's already airing) I decided to watch four episodes of season four (how fitting), all of which took place on a "Shadowy planet called Umbara".
The plot is basically:
Anakin's clones have been assigned to a different General, temporarily, in the midst of battle for a dark planet called Umbara. However, General Krell (for that's what he is called) is not exactly a kind Jedi like the others. He simply [tornado fang]ing disregards everything, and sends the clones on suicide missions.
Eventually Capitain Rex and the others must make a hard decision... follow orders or SHOOT KRELL IN HIS STUPID [tornado fang]ing FACE?

What I thought of those four episodes:

Well... I loved it. I like dem Clone Troopers, and I love when they are being fleshed out. And they were fleshed out, alright. Not counting Krell there's basically no Jedi this time around. Mostly Clones. Sure, Anakin appears at the beginning of first episode, and Obi Wan is here and there (mostly in transmissions). But in general it has CLONES. LOTS OF 'EM.

Why is it, that for all the things this show does right, it also has to [tornado fang] up something? As I mentioned many times, General Grievous is useless. FRIGGIN' USELESS.

Agreed.  I liked the show for the action and the animation, but all the canon-raping just drove me up a wall.  Now it's on at a time that I definitely can't watch, even if I made a point to go to my grandma's every weekend to watch it!  I've been just waiting out the DVD releases.

With how TCW was moved to Saturday mornings... there's rumor that the show may not see a sixth season.  Part of me is glad, as it means they'll stop screwing stuff up.  Part of me is sad, though, as no more SW on TV and all I'll have now to watch is... *shudder* ...Detours.

Just try to think of it as some sort of alternate universe, and possibly you might find new enjoyment in this.

I know I do.

That's really the only way that I can watch the show.  I need to shut my brain off for that half hour and enjoy the ride.  I do enjoy watching the show, but not having a TV or cable/satellite puts a real damper on watching it.

As for Detours, it's non-canon.  I'm fine with that.  It's humorous.  I'm fine with that, too.  I love Robot Chicken: Star Wars and have all three DVDs.  However, what truly bothers me about Detours is that they have utterly forsaken their stop-motion roots.  That is simply unforgivable.

Lucasfilm needs to get off their ass and give us a DVD release of that series!  I watched the episodes with IG-88 in just so I could mimic his voice.  I mean, dammit, that show had IG-88 in it!

It's an entire series and it was aired roughly around the same time as the Ewoks cartoon series.
