Well, you have to edit the spritesheets in the image folder of the game.
You can add you own stuff, like the above did, however, the sprites must be pixel-perfect, or else the sprites will glitch up in-game.
I know that from experience, I messed up the charging sprites. and whenever I would charge. Rockman would Shake Uncontrollably. 8D
Even if it's only a light edit, I still say I did a damn good job 8-bitizing Masaru. The extra weapon charge animations aren't complete, but still...

Full screen? I don't think that's possible. I know in that config program, you can have two other screen sizes. Nothing there with full screen mode as far as I can tell.

Well how do I even do that? where is the image folder of the game? how do I get to it?
The img folder is in the same folder as where the origional .exe program is found, along with everything else. (Can't transilate readme)
Man, i wanna work on my mod again... stupid work i gotta do.
Anyhow, once you zip the game up just go into the folder callled image.
All images must be saved as a bmp 256.

I'll probably make a new version with a better pose than that... it really started with me just screwing around with putting sprites into the game. -u-' I decided people would want a Roll game.

Turn it into the "Roll Suit" and make her have little angel wings for the jets and shoots a ring or something for the fist. I dunno, it's just a suggestion.
The angel wings are for my own suit. ^^

The music cuts out around the Shademan fight and it's silent for the rest of the fights, but I make it up by having a certain song you might like. :D
The MM9 bosses were made by KirbyPink, Masaru and the Forte replacement Kain were made by me, and Albert was made by Capcom; I just edited him and replaced Wily with him. :P

He didn't have a Super Adapter mode in MvC, and the one you're probably referring to, that was a combination of Beat, Rush, and Eddie. Even though the theory sounds true, I doubt it would work.

Something feels very strange about your images of zero. :( It looks like the feet at the bottom are just 2 eyeballs, it's really freaky. Was it always like that in the gameboy megaman Xtreme games or no? :| Assuming you took it from them games, or did you draw it all cusotm yourself?

Makin' a Bass version of the game. Comin' along pretty well, a couple of screw ups that I can't undo, but nothing too huge (only noticeable when you do the mega man dance). Sadly, the only real resemblance "Bass" has to the actual thing is the fins. I'm also gonna be lazy and not worry about the climbing sprites (though, you COULD say that his fins looks like they're folded when he's climbing :P)
Once I'm done with the sprite sheet for "Bass", I'll post it up. I plan on making Mega Man the one you run into at Wily's Castle, and anything Rush turn to Treble (Beat's probably gonna be the same, or else a "generic" item that appears)

Beat doesn't rescue you from pits in this game as far as I can remember. Beat functions the same way he does in Rockman 5 and 6.

But, if that's the case King Reaper, the "seeing double" effect theory would still probably stand.

taken from Xtreme 2, and colored in MS piant. ive given up on a Zero mod because all the sprites have a predetermined "box" width that cannot be exceeded of the sprite ingame will look weird... Zero had to be compresed too much, and it wasnt helping. so Ive given it up. I might do some other mod, but not Zero.
What about editing Rock's sprites to look like Zero? I thought RMX's 8-bit RMZ comics were pretty good with the edits, so it's possible. :)
For those that care, I just have a few powers left. I'll do the shield and suit tomorrow (dunno HOW I'm going to do it, I know that Bass has his own Super Adapter, but it's lacking three running sprites. The shield shouldn't be too bad, just have to edit it so that the shield sticks out in front of the fins when it's out)

That looks good, but maybe you should use some of the Bass Sprites in the game already instead of adding Bass' Head to Megaman's Body.

Sadly there aren't any that are already created, and I have not a clue as to where to find GOOD 8-bit Bass sprites. Except for the Super Adapter (which I'm going to have trouble with), everything had to be a copy-paste of the helmet since Bass' only sprites without the Adapter are him leaping up in the air or sitting down defeated as far as the sprites in the game are concerned. Unless someone can create a better sprite sheet that fits the boxes and whatnot of Mega Man's in the game, I'm stuck with the copy/paste job.
You can always use the Shooting sprites, the Jumping sprites and the Jumping Charge Sprites. It eliminates some of the work.
I know the shooting and charging (and maybe even the jet) are going to be easy, but it's the walking part that's going to be a pain. The Adapter only shows 1 running sprite out of 3, so unless I make one myself (which WILL look like crap, I'm more of a Frankenstein-esque spriter), I'm stuck on that. Plus I have to find out the total length of the box that the game allots since if you notice in the screenshot, the one with the adapter has two pixels of the left wing cut off, and moving the sprites over causes a noticeable change when you hit the A or S key to switch back to normal. Granted I can work with the pixel cutting, the main problem easily lies with the running sprites (I'm guessing in game he takes a step and leaps and either flies around or just jumps like a mad man; never actually bothered to go through the game itself).
If I can somehow get the other two walking sprites just uncharged, I'll actually do the work and recolor the sprites for the charging animations myself.
Okay, little help here, I am somehow expereincing lag, can this somehow be relaited to the Config.exe program?
It happens because some other program is demanding the computer usage away from RM7FC, usually it goes away. so don't fret too much about it.

Anyway, if you want an idea, why not have it be Proto Man instead of Mega Man? I'm sure that's easy as hell to do (there's already the sprites for it on Sprites Inc.), and just switch the in-game Proto Man to Mega Man.

What about Rush? Why not make a giant sprite sheet change to Rush and have a "MEGA Adapter" for him where Rush turns into the suit and uses Mega Man to run around (meaning you wouldn't have to change the sprites for the Super Adapter, just change the plates to say MEGA instead of RUSH (or ROCK), and just have to worry about the rest of the sheet, with the Rush items being just generic stuff).

In it you would be trying to take over RPM and I would be the one carrying out your will. The 8 bosses could be the Knights of Vixy and she could be the last boss. With DZ replacing Bass of course. Sound like a lot of work yet?
If Vix decides to hand out her sprites.. ::) Well, there's only one choice left for me, and that's Quint or Time Man. But, where to start..

My hack is coming along nicley, However I need help with the spriting of ALL Robot Master Replacements, Dr. Light's Replacement, Eddie's Replacement, and Beat's Replacement.
I'm in dire need of the walking sprites for the Super Adapter armor. I can't do a thing without them. >< 2 walking normally, and then 3 walking with buster being used. Heck, I can make a set for the shooting in the air, but the walking animations KILL the progress ><

Have you tried any to turn MIDIS into full NES songs? try searching MaverickHunterIris on youtube, she's known for that. (she offers a program called GXCC, a MIDI converter)
I can't use it with MP3's? I have to convert it to MiDi first? aww man...
You misenterpeted there.. How it works, just put a Midi in there, and let it convert the MIDI into a MP3, and, into NES glory.
That or Format Factory.

I finally got around to changing the Weapon Get graphics. It took about an hour and a half tracing the original drawing, recoloring everything and then trying to fix the colors.
I think i came up with an awesome mod. Instead of Mega Man, it's...A PERSONA USER! (lol I <3 P3)
I figured I can take helmetless Mega Man, make it look like normal clothes, and instead of getting powers, he summons or switches with a Persona (i.e. Robot Master)! I can even make the Super Adapter work by just changing around some of the beginning sprites and then leave it alone. Most of the Robot Masters have a walking animation of some sort I can use, and so I can just switch with them, and for the ones that don't, just summon them and have their sprite over the player with them doing the attacks (and the character just acting like normal). I should be able to fit all of them there, they seem to not be too much bigger than Mega Man (though I WILL test this first). Just because I'm nice, I'll even offer to emo/un-emo the main character of P3 (haven't played P4 yet, just 20 days left owo)

That's right, I decided to make a "Metalman" (or in this case, Metaltan) mod, seeing as the person who made it before didn't repost it and I was bored. To make Metal thinner than the original boss sprites, I edited Rockman abit. Currently no charge sprites, boss weapons or extra weapons are finished yet, but the main sprites are. And yes, you're throwing Metal Blades (charge it up and you've got energy-covered Metal Blades). Too bad I can't make them aimable. :|

The guy replacing Slash Man is Null (or Gray Fox...) from Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. I was working on this since 8PM today. It took a while to get his intro stance or whatever the hell you call it before you fight a Robot Master lined up correctly. It looks pretty cool in action. I still need to fix his Charging Attack sprites. They're all misaligned.
I just had a brainstorm on the toilet: a mod where you play as an no-name new member of RPM. Dr. Wily II, working on some random thing, accidentally creates a virus that causes various RPM members to go nuts and start rampaging around the world. It's your job, having joined just after the virus went out so as to be unaffected, to stop the rampaging RPMers... But is it all as it seems?

BTW, Also, im thinking of making all the stages into RPM locations. so, if anyones willing to help out with the little map edits, id appreciate it. especially since I dont really know what the inside of most locations here look like... that should rely on its "builder".

My Hack is coming along fine, except I cant get a free program to convert Mp3's to Midi's, And all graphics need to be finished by somebody else. I can't sprite for [parasitic bomb].
My mod's going pretty well too. I finished making the sprites for Freeze Man. I replaced him with Python from Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. He looks pretty stupid, but there weren't enough references of him to make somewhat accurate sprites of him.
I have bad news though. It doesn't deal with the mod itself, it deals with making videos of it. Whenever I try to make a movie in Camtasia, I can't save it as an AVI anymore. Nothing happens when I try to publish it. Anyone have any clue as to why it does that?

You have to change the MIDI tunes into Ptone, but I don't really know how to do that. And nobody has made a converter yet... :|

When that company was offering the free version for one of its old versions (Version 3 I think it was) I was able to download the full version with a working key code, I guess now it won't work since I had to reinstall it recently due to having to reformat my laptop... :/

Really? I actually used a couple of the songs from that site and as far as I can tell, the music is kinda loud, however, it doesn't overlap the sounds dramatically, at least not from what I experienced with it.
I don't have a screenshot as of now, but I was able to replace the normal english font letters with the font used in Chrono Trigger. Turns out the letters are about the size of the NES MM font. I also replaced the menu weapon select font with the MMX1-3 font. :P
EDIT: Alright, got a shot. This displays the menu font, although the observant might notice the different numbers.

okay, I take back what I said before about those tunes overlapping other sound... apparently it was either a momentary glitch, or I just didnt hear the sound effects. cuz I tried them again and now the other SFX are clearly hearable.

You Need To Have Pxtone And A WAV File Of The Song You Want To Put In.
Take The WAV Music File And Set It As An Instrument In Pxtone.
Then Set The WAV Instrument And Set It On On Middle Key, And Have It Play For The Length Of The Song.
That Worked For Me, Anyway.

Yep, Pxtone only lets you use WAV's.
I tried this for a while. It's pretty alright from a first look.
But I was hoping it would convert them to 8-bit MIDI notes (NES style).
The pttone becomes the same size as the WAV and it's pretty big.
But at least you can use it to mod your game. ^^

What the [tornado fang]. whenever I change the music to one I PTTuned, all it does is play the boss selected theme over and over again instead of the music I put in. NANDE!?
When there is no sound in the slot (It does this to me with the Title and the Boss Battle Music.) It will repeat the previously played song in its place.

Thats Probably the Case, Because the 2 Songs I replaced (Title and Boss1, For COLORS and Knightmare, Respectively.) Either are not playing or the previous song is playing in its slot. It's really confusing. :|
Flame Patch V 1.0 release!
so far all thats really done, (of the Character portion, I mean...) is the basic Flame, standing walking etc. His ladder climbing sprites have been added since the video and in the end ive replaced the Ken bgm for the Faust stage.
Faust is so far the only level edit I've completed. all the other levels are still in their original state. Ive also turned Protoman into PB. 8D sort of. I made him helmetless (red hair FTW,) and turned proto's grey and red outfit into PB's Black and red outfit... ive added Flame's Weapon get screen image, and changed the R.U.S.H. tiles into D.A.R.K. tiles. The plan is that once he has em', the rush adaptor will be replaced with Flames Dark Hyper mode. but I havnt gotten to that yet... im currently working on the weapon recolors... (ugh...) the rest are small little edits here and there~...

BTW, the name of my Mod, if you havnt guessed it yet, Is Flame/RPM.

I've done a couple of stuff with my mod. I finally got around to changing Shade Man and Spring Man into The Sorrow and The Fear respectively. I also did some extra stuff on the side, but I want to show a video of it. Unfortunately, Camtasia seemed to have died on me or something. I don't know why, but I can't save the recordings as AVI's anymore :(. Does anyone have any suggestions to other video recording programs? I already tried GameCam and HyperCam, but those lag the games I play up like crazy and the video turns out ass-ugly.
I just got a stupid idea!
What if I change the PXtone Plugin to a Mp3/Wav Plugin, and just change the name? Will I be able to use Mp3's?
I kinda doubt that would work, but it's worth a try, I guess.

So I messed around a little bit with the map editor following that partially translated picture someone (I don't remember who unfortunately) posted on this site and I found out some interesting things. However, I probably should warn you guys ahead of time that I still have trouble trying to figure this stuff around so some of the new information might be incorrect. Make sure you guys back up the levels before you edit them.
Anyways, first, you know that box with those 5 check boxes? I figured out what most of them do. The first two check boxes disable/enable the front/first and back/second layers views and the third check box enables/disables the tile type views. The fourth checkbox enables/disables a grid (I just forgot to label that on my diagram). I don't know what the last tile types does.
Second, there's a way to get rid of/change the different tile types that are on the map. I still don't know what all the tile types are, but there's a ladder tile type (it's that orange ladder looking one), the spike tile type (it's that orange tile with the giant black blotchy thing in the middle of it), and the delete tile type (it's the light blue tile with nothing on it. I'm assuming the snow looking tile type is for slippery surfaces. Basically, you click on the third selection and then enable the third check box and you'll be able to mess around with the tile types. I still haven't really gotten the hang of it though and I usually end up deleting some other random stuff...
Lastly, there's that area with the 4 boxes right underneath where you enable/disable the add/delete tile types thing. All that does is it lets you move the level camera around. I can't really explain it any other way.
That's all I was able to figure out. I managed to successfully change some parts of the first Wily stage and Slash Man stage. I still have no idea how to add enemies or even enable how to view them in the editor.
Lot's of people have done that and put it on the site...

1- Installing Winamp
Buy or install demo version.
2- Get the pxtune plugin
I put them in the attachment.
3- Put them into plugin folder
Copy-Paste files into "\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins" folder.
4- Open the Winamp and have fun

Actually I figured out the ladder sprites but I did have a little trouble with one sprite: Shooting in the air. But I fixed it by making the legs shorter. Next up: Charging up sprites. :O Quickman can be a bit tough... Some sprites are too tall ;O; Also, I'm going to use tornado man for the super adaptor. Oh well...

I'm going to try to use Elecman for the Protoman/Proto shield. Because Quickman was Dr. Wily's attempt at recreating Elecman. But Elecman doesn't have too many sprites so I might use someone else. I'll try to post some screenshots if I figure out how to...sorry, I'm kinda stupid. Can someone help me please? Also... I'm having trouble with the 1-up sprite.

There are some BMP image files inside the game's folders. All the sprites are already there, stacked next to each other.
All we do is replace the sprites with something else, anything that measures the same height as the old sprite. o.o

I will move my work to "final2.zip" when I have the time for it. x3
the sprites *Can* be a few pixels larger though. just not too much. hence the reason I dropped my Zero mod. Zero's 8 bit sprite was too big to fit in, and even compressing it didnt help.
Yeah, I had to trim down a few jumping sprites. My Quickman/ Tornadoman/ Elecman mod is having a few problems because the Quickman sprites are a little too tall, but its working ok... kinda :\

Ive decided to do Gemini Man but Im already running into problems with it ::) I really need to start making sure The sprites will work before I get my hopes up >_<
I guess for the time being, I won't be able to do anything with my hack, seeing as I am not allowed on my own computer. (I am starting to see what I want to do in terms of the Super Adapter's Zero Sprites...) I guess I should Replace Light with C.C. or something. and then when MM8FC is released, I will use more R2 stuff and eventually make the Rush Jet Wily 2 Stage part (If its still there) into a battle with the Guren. I have big ambitions, and I hope to get them to work.

Oh look, it's Kallen Stadfeld from Code Geass! XD
I still have lots to fix, like her sleeves and her hair. Ugh, the hair was a pain in the ass to make. Her arms are kinda FUBAR too, especially in her running animation. The 1-Up sprites I made kinda suck. Since there isn't much room on the sprite sheet, I couldn't really make her hair spiky in it, so it kinda looks like her hair when she is at school.
0v0, Give me that... NOW!!! Oh, I'll post some of the work I've been slowly doing on the Lelouch Mod... Just give me some time...
Ok. Here it is. Just copy into wherever you have your Rockman 7 game in. I didn't finish the whole sprites, just the Rock Buster sprites including charging sprites, that's it. None of the special weapons have been completed, nor do I have any intention on doing it. I did fix a little bit of the sprites after posting that preview picture.
BTW, did you ever get to replace Freeze Man with Jeremiah/Orange-kun?
I'm still working on that Freeze/Orange Transition...

I decided to fix up the Kallen mod that Lizard made... And I made her special weapon sprites! (Sadly only the normal ones and none of the fancy poses like Slashing or Shield Creation, but oh well...) I just recolored the red areas of her clothing to make it classic rockman style... Other than that I will eventually make Super adapter and Shield sprites... just don't know when I'll have the time or skill to do so... :\

Heres a neat little thing I've been doing to the Super Adaptor sprites in Lizards Kallen Mod...
I made these out of boredom.. Its far from done... But the ones I did do don't look half bad...
Ignore the sliding sprites, I was using those to get the charging colors correct...
Hmm, now that's rather interesting. I did finish making the Burning Wheel and Junk Shield sprites. All I need to do is the Slash Claw sprites and I'm done with it.
Sweet, I'm looking foward to it.
Also, the New Super arm... Tested it and it looks perfect.
Ok. Here's the finished sprites for the Junk Shield, Slash Claw, and Burning Wheel. I didn't include the sprites you did for the Power Adapter since I figured you'd be working on it some more. Anyways, here ya go.

Another update on the S.Adapter Sprites (I'm probably going to make it into G.Adapter or something...) The majority of them are done, except for any sprites where the Super Arm (Guren Arm) have been shot off. Along with a few charging sprites (The ones for charging while walking/standing.) Other than those... its pretty much done except for the shield, which I have no [tornado fang]ing clue what to do for those... (I would also like to get/make sprites for Weapon get and stuff like that... I just need some talent. :P)
EDIT: New version again.... All charging sprites complete! And I even did the armless ones... Kallen looks horrible without her left arm, but oh well... I did what I could...
Oh right. I totally forgot about them. Here they are.
The first one top-left is the one I currently use. I don't really like how the hair turned out. I also should probably change it so she doesn't have angry eyes. >w<
That sprite was supposed to be temporary until I was able to find a way to make her hair a bit more spiky (not sure if that's the word I should use). The problem is that there isn't enough room on the sprite sheet to do that. The other two were ones I had used previously, but decided to try and fix it. I'll probably switch back to the middle one. The icons on the bottom were ones I made for fun. Unfortunately they are too big to use for the 1-up icons. If that wasn't the case, I would have used the one I made for Kallen. I was going to finish the C.C. icon, but I had trouble trying to fix the right side of her hair.
Final version of the Super Adapter finished... Some of the charging sprites are a little messed up (Shaky) But I can't seem to fix it... :\ Anyway... enjoy.
Ooh. So it's just her arm transforming into the Guren Mark 2's Arm and also its flight wings? Coolios The transformation sprites for it are pretty cool. And to think I have just been working on my own interpretation for the Super Adapter the past 3 hours. XD. I tried combining the design of the Guren Mark 2 for the upper portion of the armor and Kallen's flight-suit (I guess that's the right word for it) for the legs. I was going to not add in the helmet, but I thought that would be kind of cheap if I just stuck Kallen's head on the new Super Adapter armor. You want me to post up what I got so far?
Anyways, as for my Maverick Hunter EVA mod, I finally replaced Junk Man with Ursula from Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. I used Mega Man X from MMXtreme as a base, so she's pretty tiny compared to the original Junk Man sprites. I'll try to post up a new video of her in action later.

I just started the edit of My Flame mod to accomodate Flame's redesign.
The new helmet (farthest one on the left) is a big improvement on the earlier ones I did, don't you think? It's the closest I can get it to look like the Guren Mark 2's head without making the sprite too big for the sprite sheet. It's going to be a big pain in the ass to create each of the sprites. >w<

I'm almost done making the sprites for the Guren Mark 2 Armor. I just need to make the burning sprites, sticky (when Slash Man throws that sticky crap on you) sprites and the frozen sprites and then that will be it.
I already made those for my mod (With my version of the super adapter). And I think mine broke, The lights don't shut off in Wily 1 anymore.By the way, do you have any ideas for a replacement for Blues Shield?
By replacing graphics, the new ones don't get a proper fade-in, or in your case fade-out. Try editing the graphics used for the intro and you'll see what I mean.

Change the image "menuitem" - the weapon names are there, in normal menu and highlighted colors. However, if you're changing the name of the default buster, you'll also have to edit the "menu" image seeing as the buster is actually PART of the menu.

Ah, that. I think it uses the default game font, due to japanese characters being mixed in there sometimes (atleast on my end), which is also used for the intro. You'd need to actually edit the program to change the text, and I don't know if that's possible yet. I can run a quick Cloud Man test on my own mod to check.

Alright, yeah - weapon get screen text as well as the intro text, the game's dialouge (Blues, Light and Bass talking) and even the little boss lines when you select them ("Watch your step", etc.) are unchangeable without somehow cracking the game program open and editing its code. You can change the game's font all you want (I replaced it once with the Chrono Trigger font), but you'll just make it look fancier (or worse, depending on the font).
Meh. I'll chock it up to mistranslation. It's happened before (CAN YOU SAY AYBABTU?) You know, where it says something almost completely different.

Oh yeah, the music... Just download some PTTUNE files and rename the same as whatever song you want to replace. For example, you have a PTTUNE version of Storm Eagle's stage music and you want to use that for Cloud Man's stage, rename that Storm Eagle PTTUNE file to cloud.pttune and then place that into the BGM folder.
I think this is the link with the PTTUNE songs. Hopefully, the link still works.

To everyone having trouble replacing the music, despite having pxtone and saving over the original files, I do have the solution. Check the pxtone.dll file in the main folder of Rockman 7 FC. Make sure it's the same version as the pxtone.dll file in your pxtone program folder. If it's not, copy the pxtone.dll file from your pxtone program folder and replace the pxtone.dll file in Rockman 7 FC. Once you replace it with the current version, you can successfully replace the pttune files in the bgm folder and it will play in the game.

You missed the whole point. I'm talking about the dll file in the main folder of Rockman 7 FC. Not the pttune files in the bgm folder. pxtone.dll determines what version the game takes. Which means if you have the current version of pxtone, if you save over the pttune files in the bgm folder with it, they won't be read. But all you have to do is replace the pxtone.dll file in Rockman 7 FC to the one provided with the pxtone program you have, and you're good to go.

Bleh, editing that specific sprite set was a pain, whether it was the angle or the shading I don't remember. I ended up completely replacing it with scratch sprites in that Crimson mod. :\
Rocks Legs and arms are too bulbous to really work with, you need to slim them down. but most of the time it looks like somebody cut a chunk of him off...
I had around 2-4 poses done, but due to my stupid [tornado fang]ing common sense, I lost one of those poses forever... >_<
Copy, paste, flip horizontal. Once you get half of the walking sprites done, just flip them and you'll finish twice as fast. :\

Good, good. Nice work editting something like that. I understand color limitations, though, but the foot shading makes it look like it's walking backwards.
Also, in referral to the backwards-like walking; creepy exocist-neck "raepface" Rock scares me. :o
I [tornado fang]ing hate those color limitations, I once tried to break them and put my image back to how it was.... screwed up the graphics on Weapon Select.
Speaking of which.... I need to make some for that too... Damnit!
I should test my sprites to see if they work... I modded my game so my weapons are super powerful and I'm immortal. Just so I can test in peace.

As a joke in my game, Slash man is now Suzaku... Because if you use the Geass Canceller on him, he dies in one hit. Take that, Live Command! Now I need to modify his sprites....
EDIT: The ending sprites look fine from what I can tell, the walking is a little odd looking, but its fine....

Also, she charges up her body and it blinks? How about o flying around her that torando swings around her between white and blue instead?

Ahh, as for the first part of your post, Kallen's a girl and she comes from an anime called Code Geass. I'm not really sure what sound I'd replace the buster charging with. I did experiment with the Atomic Fire's charge sound effect, but I couldn't get the beginning/mid charge sound effect to sound right.

I used Proto Man as the body's base for the idle sprites. I did change the mouth to red but it just didn't look right for some reason. Maybe I should make the mouth smaller?

Oh yeah, here's her head for the ending sprites. It took about two days to make it. I wasn't sure which one would be good to use so I have included two versions of it. "Finish A" is the same size as the base I used which is Mega Man's head from the ending sprites. "Finish B" is just a teensy bit bigger than the original sprites. The hair still looks kinda crappy, but I did the best I can with it.

Huh, this is weird, looks like she has "Chamelion Syndrome". Why? Her eyes keeps changing from blue to green, and back again. plus those long legs in the artwork.
In terms of the long legs, isn't that just the artstyle of the artists/character designers? Most of the characters in Code Geass have freakishly long and skinny arms and legs.
As for the eyes, err, it's just the artists being inconsistent and/or lazy? I know for the sprites I did, I was going to go back and change her eye color to blue, but I forgot.
I remember hordes of anime that have eye colors that are predominate, but looks like Code Geass seems to have eye color inconsistancy. Let's stick with her Ep 1 eye color because of it being canon AND the first appearance of the series.
As for the long legs, I instantly thought "chamelion". If I remember, the character artists were most likely cartoon animators before they did something more fancy. :/
ok... now that I have the ending sprites done, I decided to release a pack containing:
Ending Sprites
Weapon Get Sprites
Menu Screen
Menu Items
Normal Items (Decided to make a minor change to the Energy tanks...)
Warping In/Out Sprites (People don't warp, so I changed that)
And the main character Sprites
Stuff that still needs to be done:
The picture of Rockman in the opening Sequence.
The Mugshot in the Stage Select Screen.
I would say we're about 80% done with the main part. (Which is replacing all traces of Rockman with Kallen).
Her head is kinda shaky when she walks away from the burning castle. It shakes a bit to the right before moving back to the left again. Weapon Get turned out alright. And good work with doing a human drop instead of a teleport into a level. It feels better to test the sprite while playing the game, and you did a good work with making each sprite work well. Dashing looks cool too. Keep it up, now I wait for the mugshots and the opening scene change. Oh, and don't forget to put in a title screen later~ ^.^
I have a title screen, I used the one from my Lelouch mod and just put Kallen where the Geass was. along with tacking on "Kallen Version" under the Subtitle. I didn't think that would be good enough, so I'm going to think of something for the title screen.

Paint.NET screwed up my Password, Stage Select, and Weapon Get Screens... God Damnit. I just want to make them red, and they apparently convert out of 8-bit when I use Paint.NET, because they look [tornado fang]'d up and inverted now... what kind of [dark hold] makes the game [tornado fang] up the graphics if you convert them and convert them again back to 8-bit? Even if it was an accident?

Ah, but seriously though, great work with what little I started off doing on my own with the Kallen mod. With the responses this mod is getting, it feels like this is turning into a community mod now. Heh. Anyways, I tried my hand at doing those walking sprites of Mega Man at the ending sequence. I only did one frame though and I still have to fix a few things here and there.

I finally fixed most of the Rockman sprites. I changed Kallen's eyes and I made her mouth smaller and gave her lipstick. I have the Guren Mark 2 Armor in the sprite sheet too. I didn't do anything to the Blues Shield sprites yet and I still have to finish the burning sprites and the sticky sprites for the Guren Mark 2 Armor, so keep that in mind when you test it out.
Now there are sticky sprites... What to do for the Shield, I have no clue.

Yes, new release. This time it has the music I put in (If somebody could get that in 8-bit I would greatly appreciate it) The only tracks I don't have in yet are the Password Screen, The Stage Selected tune, and the Castle Stage Map tune...
BEWARE, its a highly compressed file. It might bog up your computer due to the CD quality music (Think of it as Complete Works Version, lol). Also, theres a lot of Junk files. I just never filtered them out and deleted them. I apologize.
Ehh... I think I need to find a place to put it... Its 459 MB... I would use RAR's and split it up... but this forum interface won't allow them...

I can't get mine to work right... I modified Rockman, saved the file in the format it came in, and it won't even start. Can someone give me some advice on this?
You need to save the images in bmp and 256 colors.
The Rockman image should be around 890kB.
Don't cut off anything from it. Don't resize it either. o.o

I'll post some results when I have things fixed up.
the sprites cannot exeed the size of the original sprite by too much. think of it like a little box around the sprite that the program reads. 1 or 2 pixels extra is okay, but too much and it will get cut off and possibly show up on the surrounding sprites ingame. also, try to line it up correctly with the originals, or youll have the character moving all wonky.
One last tip, don't use anything other than MS Paint. Or else it'll [tornado fang] the graphics up big time.
A bit too late for that warning... Oh well, I'll figure out how to fix it when I'm done with the sprites.
A simple fix is to get some random file, copy the sprite sheet over it, and save it over the old sprite sheet. It saves time from having to redraw everything, it worked for me at least.

I had to make the jumping sprite a bit shorter, but it works perfectly, except, the buster projectile is a bit downward from where the buster is.

Uhh, I got a little more done. But I don't really know how to fix the Hair... I personally think it looks fine. But I think the bangs might get in the way for what I am planning on doing. Which is to make Kallen look innocent until you use the attack in which her facial expression changes to make her look meaner.

I'm going to put up a video of my own soon enough. Once I learn how to get sound on Hypercam. You'll notice changes and placeholder stuff (Stuff at the beginning, Stage Select, The Castle (I used the Castle on the Map of RPM :P)) Plus I got all the new music in. I'll need to find a host before I can upload the music.
I've always had bad luck with hypercam. I'd recommend using Camtasia Studio (http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp). It's only a 30 day trial unfortunately, but it's fairly easy to use.

It was a direct cut from the RPM map, Its a placeholder (From my Lelouch mod). I'm intending on putting the Area 11 Goverment Building in there. I didn't want Wily's castle there.

Besides, I decided to change Burst Man into The Pain. You see, my mod's based on Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. It has characters from both games. Basically, the story is that Big Boss/Naked Snake is nowhere to be found and it's up to EVA to stop Volgin from taking over the world. However, she's too weak to stop him with just a Mauser Broomhandle pistol so she transforms/R.O.C.K. On/Mega Merges to become a Maverick Hunter. Weird story, I know, but it gives me an excuse to use MGS characters in a Mega Man/Rockman setting. Heh.

An idea just hit me, should we swap Kallen's old sprites with mine, they seem to bring more character. Then after that we could have the Pilot Suit be the Rush Adapter too, since the sprite's already been made and I think there's an episode where there are a few pilots strapped on thier jetpacks..

I assume by things you could fix you mean the blackish-grey spots on her legs? Other than that, they're GREAT! owob

I think her mouth might be better black in this case... Red makes it look like she has lipstick on. But thats my opinion.

Well, in the end your sprites are probably going to be used... they're more Kallen-like IMO. Not that lizards are bad, they're more like how capcom would draw her lol.

I also tried to make a new slashman attack animation, it's a bit HARD to edit some sprites and make them look good.

The alternate shademan tune IS in the game though. if you cant put that it you can just change the names for the alt tune and the regular one so that the alt is the default, and the shademan one the alt.

The only thing IVE been able to do, is DL PXtone files and use the pxtone app to change them to Pttune.
I was actually able to get music I wanted to use in there... Only problem is that I can't make them "8-Bit" without them turning to [parasitic bomb] thats almost impossible to hear.

This is the most recent Kamen Rider Decade for RM7FC that I've been working on. File size is big because the music has been replaced with WAV quality music, which means it also takes awhile to load up.

You can say that. I initially hijacked the project from theToNg0 after it became clear that all he was going to have was the main Rockman and Boss sprites altered. I took it the step beyond, altering Forte and the S.Adapter Rockman, as well as Beat and the Rush Jet, some mini bosses, and changing sound effects and music. Milen has been a big help later on in the process, aiding in a lot of image work.
Ive gotten real lazy with mine...
I have a bit as well. I have two mini bosses I still haven't changed (Trucker Joe and the crawfish one), plus two of the Wily Castle bosses (the turtle and the flying mask)
I still have to change Megaman's equipped weapon sprites, but im lazy with the recoloring... I was about halfway done when I changed Flame's design, making me have to re do the sprites. Its a real pity the Zero mod didnt work out. Damnnit Zero, why did you have to be too big?
I want to continue working on mine, But I can't sprite so well, and Gaia is making new Kallen sprites (Which he has taken a break on to prevent irritation.). PLUS, I can't make music. I would upload the music I'm using but the size is massive. I DID make one song, but it was really quiet and the MIDI that I used sucked. So really, I would continue working/make a new video. But I'd rather wait till I make more updates/get Boss ideas.

I spent the day remaking the sprites for EVA (who replaces the Rush Coil and Rush Jet Rockman sprites). I used the female base I previously mentioned in my art thread (http://forum.rockmanpm.com/index.php?topic=163.msg175877#msg175877) and added in the hair and whatnot. I haven't got around to making the shooting sprites and I haven't had the chance to test it in-game yet.

I just finished making The Pain (who replaces Burst Man) and I am in the middle of trying to change that Crab Mini Boss from Bust Man's stage into a mini-attack sub. I'll try to post up a video of both The Pain and the mini-attack sub in action later tonight.
I'm thinking when Gaia finishes with his Kallen sprites I'm going to redraw the Guren Armor to fit, and try to make the design of the wings closer to how they actually are (Thanks to that SEITEN model I have I can fix it.)
So here's the new video I promised to upload a few days ago.
You get to see The Pain (replacing Burst Man), and the updated sprites for EVA and Maverick Hunter EVA. I mentioned an attack sub would replace that crab mini-boss. Unfortunately, it's not in it because, quite frankly, it looks really bad. Anyways, enjoy. :)
Nice spriting, normal EVA looks kinda like classic Aquaman with long hair though... But that might've just been the first impression. :P

Ehh... I don't know when I'm going to be able to continue work on the Kallen mod. You see, recently my parents thought to motivate me to do better in school. That I would be banned from the computer on weekdays and allowed on during weekends. But, they also took out my monitor for my computer. Which means I can't do any work on the project as of now. I might be getting it back during Christmas break, but I don't think I'll remember to continue working. So if anybody would like to work on this while i'm unable to, I would be greatly appreciative. I'll try to get the music and materials I worked on to whomever takes control of the project. Mainly, the only things left to be done are to change sprites for almost everything (Stage tiles would be nice but not necessary) and turn the music into 8-bit (It currently would be at a state I like to call "Complete Works" version. 8-bit graphics and sound FX with CD quality Music.)
tl;dr, I would like somebody to work on the Kallen mod while I can't.

Anyways, I doubt I'd be able to get much done with the Kallen mod in the long run. It took me a little over a year to replace all of the boss characters for my own mod along with the main Rockman sprites and a couple of the stage enemies...

No. Look at the size. They are streamed, non-looped, and that means they will fade out before they play again. ^^;
I don't think there would be any time for them to recompose all those songs into sequenced music. x3

It'll be a bit of a challenge because I understand it's a different group doing it which means the sprite sheets will be a different format, but hopefully with some sprites already established it'll go a little quicker. The plan is to turn 8FC Robot Masters into the Showa Riders. There's also plans for Rockman & Forte if they do that as well.
The music is basically uncompressed WAV format, as that's the only way to put in the songs. Each of the initial 8 stages, the music is representative of the show that the boss Rider is from, with the majority of the songs being the Decade remixes aside from two or three of them.

I'm interested but my plans for 8FC Is to modify my character into it.....like i did with 7FC..and i have themes done compressed into wav...thank you Foobar2000!
The way the Sprite Sheets in RM8FC are done is awful, you have to reopen them in Paint.NET to get rid of this shitty color that pops up behind the sprites. And theres a whole fuckload of Rockman Spritesheets, and I don't know which one is the one I need. -.-

Or just save them. that gets rid of the color too.
And ften, simply using the paint bucket will get rid of it too. (as long as the sprite doesnt have a black border on a black BG)

I went with what Megaman X1 and Maverick hunter X presented in terms of X1 Zero's buster shot colors.. It shows that Zero's mid level Charge is Blue, like X's Charge shot, and HIS charge shot, is red. So the assumption I made, was that His normal shots must have been Green like X's Mid Level Charge.
So far, he only stands, blinks, and shoots.

Nice work with Zero so far. What are you going to do about the Super Adapter? I remember years ago there was a website called Gold Zero or Gold Armor Zero, that had these epic pics and sprites with Zero in some fancy gold armor that looked fantastic. I wonder if anyone remembers what it looked like?
I only say this because to this day Zero still has never had his own armor upgrade.
I only remember a modded X3 Zero gif, that was gold, and instead of just swinging his saber down after the two buster shots, he did a 3 hit combo like in X4-on

I was almost halfway finished with the Flame Mod when I redesigned Flame and separated him from Megaman fandom. So I had to change AAALL the sprites, and I just couldn't properly represent him anymore (ESPECIALLY his damn hair.)
You might find the patches somewhere in the thread, maybe in my own, but no. Im not finishing the Flame mod.

About the Zero mod, is the Slashman boss gonna be like a fake Zero that stole his Z-sabre or something? Just curious.

Alright, Im ready to release the first version of the Zero patch for RPM Zero
Small Note- Dont mind the sprites of Ver. 1 Flame, thats left over from the previous mod. (Flame, and the Flame redesign)
Im leaving them in there because its easier to match up Zero with them than with Rockman, since theyre both based on Xtreme's sprites.

-Zero has replaced Rockman. So far, all thats done of him, is the regular no weapon equipped, including charging. (I also replaced the instances where he uses items such as the jet, coil, and shield and so on.)
-PB has replaced Blues. Yeah. XD the Shield has also been renamed "PB. Shield"
-The menu has been redone. This includes the Weapon icons.
-Title screen changed up. It now says "RPM ZERO"
- The text for the menu has also been replaced
-Cloudman's stage is FAUST. a Control core has replaced Cloudman.
-Burstman's stage is Dr. Wily ll's old lab. A purple twin devil thing has replaced Burst.
-Junkman's stage is now full of bitemarks, as Bolt Crank/Eat-Man is the boss replacing Junkman.
-Rush replaced with Treble Mk. ll
-Weapon get screen switched to black, and the images of Rockman replaced with Zero.
- Buster sprites replaced
-Sniper Joes changed to Supreme Commander Joes.
-Beat changed.
-Wily's mugshot changed to Wily ll. (might not be final.)

Been a while Since I updated this...
New Changes!
-Fixed the Weapon Get Images a small bit, they were lacking some detail and Shading.
-I modified the "School Kallen" Sprites and managed to get all of the main movement sprites finished, Included a small knife when she slides.
-I modified some of the Guren Kallen Sprites to have the "Gold Fingers" That are on the Super Arm, not finished with that yet.
-Modified the Colors of the Super Arm
-Made the Menu and Menu Items Super Colorful, and more detailed.
-Something I forgot to mention, Slash Man's "Slime" is now a see-thru Green in color, making it into a Gefijun Disturber.

Thanks for the Praise, I've been trying to work on this and another Unrelated Project. This one is turning out better than the other one.
(The Project is Super Geass Kart, a silly mod of Super Mario Kart where I'm Trying (Read: Failing) to convert characters into Geass Characters. I'll probably post stuff on that when I make an art topic for myself.)
One more thing I forgot to mention, is that I replaced the Extra Live Sprites, she now has that little spike of hair near the top of her head (I was trying to make the original icon small enough to fit into the boundaries, But I have yet to accomplish that.)
I dunno if its been said before but; Ya know, for that RPM Zero mod, you could probably make Slash Claw into the Z-Saber.

Bumped, but not for a totally worthless Reason. I just made a new video. This one has sound, only problem is that its rather short. I decided to use TurboMan's Stage as a demo, I stopped it so short because of my forgetfullness in adding the new graphics in.

There are several types of bitmap files. This game uses 256-color bitmap; you must've changed it to a 24-bit bmp in order to get more colors; it doesn't like that. Re-download the game and re-extract. Replace the files you edited and it should be fixed.

I guess you could put the "nyah" in her introduction animation. That's the only thing that wont get flipped I'd imagine.
i put it with a ? (saying nyah?) when she hits the roof (in her attack, when she change her eye expression), and in the first time when i see it the word was mirrored (saying ?hayn with her letters in reverse) and after it i erase the word. i see that objection attack is very important, so create the word more smaller and put 2 words, one normal and one mirrored.

is a mod, not a fangame. the first power i will see if i use shademan, the problem is the second attack, but shademan drain energy. another problem, is that the bosses will be only girls (i decide it). any problem if timevoid is a girl? she will float and i can make a "time" look. i will see the attacks. for now im making hero sprites.
i have ideas for turboman and cloud man. ideas for the other robot masters ? (spring man is already done)

im sorry guys im not very good creating sprites ::) the first is timevoid, and the second will replace vixy. the first use a sword that can attack with old powers, and have a police aspect with a watch in her... , the second have a child look, and use the same attacks that vixy.
oncoming storm, say if you want to change anything,i will intent all that is possible. some things can take much time because of the details, like the watch, and if i take attention of thoses, the image results very, very big.

oncoming storm, i have a very bad notice: the random old attacks cant be possible, because i entered that timevoid can only have 3 powers and no 4 that i wait, and there arent old powers with similarities with the shademan powers.please excuse me, i will create some powers like lasers and a electric attack. :-[

Uploading every single file is not needed, just zip the files you have edited and upload them using the additional Options tag.

o-O well, how do you record like Vixynyah did?
Recording is a completely diffrent thing. There are several programs, one i use is the WebCamMax, it captures the screen or area of your screen.
Then i use Camtasia to actually record. Next you want to select StereoMix for sound in record settings and there you go.
It's a bit complicated for beginners, but it should be pretty much straight forward.
I guess it's more of a personal thing which program you use. ^^;
If you want a program that doesn't use a lot of processing or RAM power and being able to keep the frame rate intact (without lag), you can try Windows Media Encoder.
If you want PNG-type quality (for editing later) and you have a strong PC, use Camtasia Recorder with the "TechSmith Screen Capture Codec" (it comes with Camtasia Recorder) and move the lever all the way to the left so it says "Faster Compression".
Course if you don't wanna edit much, just stream and upload it directly to youtube using a program that record the screen.
If you press the upload button at YouTube you can press "Record with WebCam". Select the program in the list and there ya go.

RM8FC is impossible to mod (for now), i intent too with the dark translation program, and after it when is descompressed all that is in the file is erased. ;O;

Slash Man has Search man's theme.
Rockman? Replaces Forte 1st battle
Super adapter Forte has mm10 sprites
Normal Rockman has a dash instead of a slide

Are you asking how to get the graphics to appear in the game? Just drag and drop the bmp files in the image folder. Just make sure they have the same name as the files you're replacing.

The coordinates for each sprite are already printed and stored inside the game's data.
Since the images are uncompressed, decompressed and easily readable, it makes it easier for a software to read the sprites and display them in different layers programmed inside the game.

Stage hacks ARE possible.
I'm doing these in Rockman GigaWorld... but text... impossible. I tried, but it just messed my game...
I had to redo a lot of things... yuck.
The only thing you can hack from Rockman 8 FC is the music, since it's stored in an independent folder... but image files are compressed into the .exe file.
Another Rockman game available for modding is Rockman 2 NETA...

I don't think text hacking is impossible... just very very difficult. It would require the use of a hex editor or something to change the area it reads text from.

Mainly I just got bored to hell with the thing, that and my spriting skill and actual talent lack oh so much.

I really would get bored with working on it. I think I tried like 3 different mods and didnt finish any. RPM Zero got the furthest, but...
