I'm not sure if the style I'm going for is really showing, it's supposed to be kind of like the boxy models of yesterday but smoothed out to remove un-wanted 'jaggies' and a few little details added. Something like Banjo Threeie.

I do plan to make a shirtless/pantsless version later.

Ah okay.  So far though, I think it's coming along very nicely.  I'm still a tad shocked by the pants though.

I should really figure out how to make a real render in this thing, the hard shading isn't really doing it justice.

I'd say use eyes and mouth as the part of the texture. (I'm judging from your avatar)

But that means you'll need to remove the eye sockets or it will looks weird.

or if you're feeling super, do both and compare them.

Hmm... I think part of the texture map would be better.
As for seeing pants and shirts, looks like the quest was a success.

Maybe you should save one with the eyes and stuff a part of the texture and another with them not, and then work on them and see with one looks better in the end.
I hope that made sense.
